I forgot that I still had 21 cards in my eTopps account. Should I take delivery ($48 to ship!), try to sell or just leave them and hope that one day Topps will get tired of holding them for me and ship them to me because they feel bad that I took a loss? Mike Trout, Bryce Harper, Miguel Sano, Freddie Freeman, Walter Johnson & Joe DiMaggio are the best ones in the group.

Not sure but I know that it proved hard to get certain Bagwell etopps cards because for whatever reason, certain years were just not held in hand by many people. I know 2001 was the hardest for me because every seller either had them still in their etopps portfolio and were just transferring the card to you or, the card went for a small fortune because there were so few available in hand. I paid almost $40 for mine.

My point is, if someone were player collecting any of these guys, it might be a hard card to find. You having it in hand might make it worth your while.

Assuming it is the RC Trout #/999...one of those will pay for the shipping cost. Everything else is gravy.

Why the hell does it cost so much to ship those?Topps should be able to send all of those for $5.

Exactly what I was thinking. If you call Topps Customer Service they may be able to do something for you (assuming these 21 cards aren't being shipped from 21 different locations :D).

IIRC, 2001 was the first year of the product, and 2001s are hard to get because people were like,"Uhhhh, I dunno about this" and Topps only made as many as were IPO'd. So few people did, and the print runs ended up being low. Really low on some of them. Naturally, those became the most sought after and expensive after they were actually released. Ever since then, I think every print run on every product sold out, even if the bloom on that rose faded in 2002.

I'd go ahead and get them in-hand. Better to have them than to not, when Topps decides finally to erase all memory of this deal. They would surely not just ship them to owners for free. And this might be one of those things that, in another 5-10 years, become a hot niche product and prices explode because the cards just aren't available.

I got in just a bit late to miss the tough first year issues. I got the initial Ichiro, thinking it might be one to grab, and it was based on first come, first served I believe. I remember being able to request a certain quantity and not "winning" as many as I had asked for, so they must have limited people at some point. They sold out though and had 10K run, so they never were too pricy. I also bought frank Thomas for a few years but the worse one I ever bought was probably that Mike Cameron 4 hr event card. I think those were down to less than a dollar at one point. I had mine delivered years ago and frankly can't believe they still make them (if they even do).

They stopped the program a coupla years back and jacked the shipping prices WAY up to take advantage of people getting their cards out.

To the OP, halo is right on. IF you have the Trout RC, you're fine. And if you have the Wieters IN HAND, I'd take it off your hands.

I remember the shipping was bad when i got mine out. I want to say something like $14-15 to get 5-7 cards delivered.

Can you guys access your accounts fine? All I get when I log in is an error "500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed." Get the same error if I try to have my password emailed to my email.

I have about 40 some cards in my portfolio. All the first year Etopps Classics of HOFers, plus some random others.
