With a print run of 500, if you priced it at $500 you would have no problem selling them (I would likely buy one at that price). If you priced it at $1000 with a 500 print run, it won't be as easy to sell them all. A lot of the appeal will depend on how it looks in the end.

The piece I keep thinking of is the Ron Lewis 500 homerun poster. I don't know what the print run was on that, or how many total were signed. But even given that it has some huge names (Mantle, Williams, Aaron, Mathews, Mays, Banks...) and some of those guys have passed away, you can still pick one up at auction for $1000-1500.
So $1000 seems a bit high for what you're talking about.

Going by how much Mays and Aaron charge to sign these days, you're looking at over $500 just to get them to sign a litho unless they give the NLBM a good deal. The good thing though is you don't see Mays & Aaron signed ***** Leagues items. I looked at past NL prints and those two were never included, which most likely means they refuse to be a part of it. If you could get them to sign, I would cap the print run at 100 and retail the piece for $1,200 - $1,500.

I agree. Too high they sit on the shelf. Priced just right, you get "you know I'll pick one of those up for my collection" guys. Sometimes on items like these even though the big names are there, the lesser players actually bring the price down. Refer to TriStars "Deals of the Day" items. Nice names on some of them, with anchors on them as well. Do your homework, price it right and they will move. Price it high and they will be soon forgotten. I would think $500-$750 would be about right. (for a 500 pr)

I have talked to the president of the NLBM and he said they would sign the prints of the painting to benefit the NLBM.

That is the price range I am thinking of pricing it at, closer to $700 though, at 500 total prints.
