Saw this on another forum today...

What does one TRILLION dollars look like?

All this talk about "stimulus packages" and "bailouts"...
A billion dollars...
A hundred billion dollars...
Eight hundred billion dollars...
One TRILLION dollars...

We'll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slighty fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet...

And $1 BILLION dollars... now we're really getting somewhere...

Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros.

You ready for this?
It's pretty surprising.

(And notice those pallets are double stacked.)

So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase "trillion dollars"... that's what they're talking about. ;)

So much for our money being worth something.

I wish I could just print out a few $100s when I needed some extra cash.

Absolutely unbelievable and totally sickening that our government could throw that much money around like it was nothing! And not trying to get political here because BOTH sides of the party are spending money like it's going out of style! Still so hard to fathom though, ya know!?

A very small percentage of money actually exists as true currency, the rest of it is just numbers on paper.

Years ago when he still did the SNL Weekend Update Dennis Miller did a similar routine where he said, do you know what a billion dollars looks like? And then he pulled out a $1.00 bill and said, it's a billion of these!

If you couted to 1,000,000,000,000 by 100 at 1 count per second it would still take 317 years to finish.

If I had that kinda money I'd call topps and upper deck and just tell them to print up "my cards". When they ask what they should do about all the other collectors and people who buy their products I would just tell them not to worry about it.

Oh yeah...by the way...don't expect to find any baseball cards on ebay any more.I'd hire people to bid on them for me non stop and hit all the BIN's.I'd own everything.Kinda like scarface except without the yayo.

Its the US's modern warfare. The US is a capitalist society so the majority of money is held within the private sector. The Chinese are a communist society so all of there money is owned by the government. Unfortunately the Chinese have wasted all of their money buying government tbills, so now Washington owns all of the Chinese money. When the government declares bankruptcy, not only will the US disappear but so will the Chinese. Unfortunately for the Chinese since the US money is maily held by its people, they will reopen under a new name, just like a raided massage parlor. ;)
