The most personal for me was Molitor's 39-game hitting streak being ended. Rick Manning with a single to win the game with Molitor on deck. Molitor was the first to congratulate him on the GWRBI. Class.

If we can include high school games...

2011 Sectional Semi-Final...Wrightstown vs Roncalli

This is going to be our year to win state...Wrightstown raced out to an 11-2 lead...4th quarter was the most amazing thing I ever saw

Our star senior, Ben Stelzer...finished with 40 points...including 27 in the 8 minute 4th quarter...

Wrightstown 74-Roncalli 67

Cried for 3 days after that game :(

Barry Bonds suspected of steroid abuse in 2006
And consequent drop in value after I had spent several Thousand dollars on him

There was speculation WELL before 2006.

All you have to do is look at the MASSIVE spike in numbers in the early 2000's compared to the late 90's to have been able to see that (plus the dramatic increase in body mass and head size).

No question about this one, and it call comes down to 2 words:

Steve Bartman

A distant 2nd would have to be when Hulk Hogan joined the nWo. I think I was 23 or so at the time, and I do believe I shed a little tear. LOL. And I'm man enough to admit it, darn it!

...and 1991 Doak Campbell Stadium, FSU v UM, Wide Right #1....

Jeff - That was the first FSU game I ever watched, as I had just decided to go to FSU... was a freshman in 1992 and have missed a total of 2 home games since, including this year's season opener against Murray State, which was at the same time as my 20-year high school reunion up in Oak Ridge, TN. Had to go to my reunion, as I couldn't miss that.

August 11th, 2003.

A minivan rolled over at an intersection in Forrest Lake, Minnesota. Herb Brooks was the driver.

I was way too young to know the significance of who he was, but I clearly remember watching the news reports that evening, the reporters on the scene calling in from cell phones, and everyone in the room glued to the TV. Just by the way everyone talked, I knew something serious had just happened.

The Fumble
The Drive
The Shot
The Decision
etc.

The first three were bad, but none hurt as bad as Craig Counsell and Edgar Renteria in the 11th inning of Game 7 of the 1997 World Series to me.

I moved from Cleveland that year, so the Decision annoyed me, but didn't break my heart.

Mine is when Ken Griffey Jr cried his way out of town and demanded to be traded. I was a huge Mariners fan and this broke my heart. I sold my entire Griffey collection and to this day have no respect for him. I was pissed when the Mariners brought him back for the end of his career.
