Any sport.

For me it's gotta be "the catch" by Tyree in the superbowl a few years back by the NY Giants. Just a magical moment for a die-hard NYG fan. My mom had also just recently passed away, so this lifted my spirits and got me out of my dark days.

Others?

I have three for me that are basically tied:

1. I was with my father in the left field bleachers at the Oakland Coliseum when Mark McGwire hit the walkoff homerun in Game 3 of the '88 World Series.

2. I was with my brother and my two best friends in the right field bleachers when Scott Hatteberg hit the walkoff homerun for the A's 20th win in a row in 2002.

3. I was at Staples Center for Kobe Bryant's 81 point game. I can't put into words how amazing it was to watch him score 55 points in one half.

I'll go with two:

1. The Cowboys first SB win under JJ when they just destroyed the Bills. Was watching it at a friend's house and just walked around smiling afterward...

2. Villanova's miracle 1985 NCAA Title game win vs. their (heavily favored) rival, Georgetown. The 'Cats played the "perfect game" and won by 2. I was 13, lucky to stay up that late on a Monday, and was floating off the ground for days afterward, as was much of the Area.

Super Bowl XX the Bears destroyed the Patriots

Also taking my wife to her first Cubs game in Wrigley seeing the Cubs playing the Cardinals in 2008. It was the last home stand of the season and the Cubs beat the Cardinals to clinch the division. There was block parties and people were going nuts. She has been a Cubs fan ever since

Miracle on ice. Probably many of you weren't even born yet.

I have 2 that I was there for
1. 2011 World Series Game 6.
2. 2004 NLCS game 7 Cardinals vs Astros. Jim Edmonds Diving catch to save the game, that is one of my first real baseball memories.

This is my # 1 as well. Most people don't understand how unreal this was.

I have 3 others that are close behind:

1992 East Regional Final Duke vs Kentucky

1992 NLCS Game 7 - Francisco Cabrera's game winning hit and Sid Bream's slide.

2011 MLB's last night of the regular season. Braves and Red Sox collapse and the Rays clinch via a walk off Longoria HR.

"And we'll see yah, tomorrow night!"

(And I don't mean the one that happened last year, I mean the real one)

or when Benilde-St. Margaret's won the state hockey tournament last year in front of an almost-packed Xcel Center. Quite the emotional game.

As far as in person, watching TJ Oakes throw the first ever pitch in Target Field history.

Interesting thread...I have been on the opposite side of at least 3 of the previous posts (the non winning side, that is).

First off, yes, Kevin, I believe in miracles.

But, has to be the Red Sox 2004 sweep the Yankees (after being down 3-0) and then sweeping the Cardinals. I really was not sure that I would see them win in my lifetime.

When talking about the single greatest moment in sport history, something of a worldwide impact, for me it has to be the 2008 Beijing Olympics 100m Dash Finals. with Usain Bolt breaking the world record while releasing his effort 10m from the finish line... most impressive sport feat I've ever seen!
