For me, it's starting pitcher. I have always had an appreciation for a true ace and really wish baseball would get back to pitchers staying in games longer.

Let's hear yours.

SS, your the general on the infield. You get the most opportunites to make plays. You get to show so many tools on every play there. Not to mention the opportunites to make those phenomenal plays deep in the hole or up the middle.

Third base, because the man and the woman can enjoy it at the same time. Guess that's why they call it the hot corner.

Favorite to play was 2nd base. Played it all through Pony League. Had a good first step and pretty good range, but a weak arm. I always admired the 3rd basemens' arms.

Favorite to collect is 1st basemen.

Pitcher, for the simple reason that the ball is in your hand. If you're on fire, no one else has to do anything. You're also the only position that gets credit for a win or loss. That's the weight of the team on your shoulder every 5th day.

1st base. Played it all my life, and some of my favorite players are first basemen. Specifically Frank Thomas.

You're responsible for catching any ball thrown to you to get the batter out, and a bad throw is no excuse. You have to stretch, do near splits, and grab that ball without moving your foot from the bag - the agility and concentration is something I respect.

While good hitters come from everywhere, it also seems like 1B is a hotspot.

Catcher the Dish ?? You see what everyone else does not
The REAL Captain of the Team and the most overlooked
You have to handle the pitcher and the Defense ;)

Also forgot to add the managers signals the catcher has to relay
Yadi Molina is the best at this For any young catchers out there ( I used to be ) Model yourself after Yadi

3rd base was my favorite when I was in high school and college. I loved having to play both the bunt and the hot corner. Now I play outfield because I run faster than most women who I play with.

Forget the diamond. I loved playing Left Field. Throwing a guy out at the plate ranked up there with hitting a homerun in my book. Nothing like seeing a guy feeling confident he is going to score only to crush his hopes with a frozen rope from the fence. :D

I have aplyed all the infield postions (starting at SS and moving down the pecking order as my knees went) and always enjoyed 1st base. The last 7 years I played was in the Houston "old fart" League and it was always nice to chit chat with the baserunners.

I played catcher in little league for two years until i couldn't do it well enough because of my astygmatism. I loved that more than anything.

Now, if I were to play it, it's a meaningless position.
