When are the 49ers going to fix their QB problem?

I am huge 49ers fan and I am getting real sick of all this quarterback *********. I am sick of them starting guys like Shaun Hill and JT O'Sullivan. The yearly offensive coordinator change is getting old really quickly as well. In my opinion they need to do one of two things, give Alex Smith the starting job and leave him in there to make mistakes and learn or draft Mark Sanchez (if he is available) or draft another quarterback that can be our future.

Being a fan I am getting pretty fed up with this whole quarterback mess and I would like to see them win again but by the way it looks that could be a ways away.

Shaun Hill is a good QB. He threw for 2,000 yards and 13 TDs in 8 games. HE went 5-3 in that span and should've been 6-2 had there been a better play call against Arizona. If we would've won that game we would've won the division. I don't think getting a flashy name QB is the answer at this point. Shaun Hill is fine and definitely better than Alex Smith. I think we should draft in the front 7 with our 1st pick and try to put a play maker or two to solidify the offense. I assume we take the best available linemen at 10, maybe best WR in the 2nd, and draft bpa the rest of the draft. To lock up another huge chunk of cash into a rookie qb at this stage in the rebuild would be silly imo.

I do agree but Shaun Hill isn't the guy, it sounds good after what he did last season but in reality we need a permanent solution.

I personally have a lot of Alex Smith cards still. I'm rooting for him still, but Shaun Hill is a good QB. He just doesn't have the physical tools to be a superstar. His arm isn't strong enough. He threw some bad picks last year. I'd like to see the Niners either draft a QB NOT in the first round and groom him and have either Shaun Hill or Alex Smith win the QB job this year. If you guys forgot, Smith had a decent year prior to the year he had the dislocated shoulder. I think he has the physical tools - I just don't know if he has the mental tools.

Shaun Hill will be the starting QB come September and in November you will be saying he isn't so bad and actually be happy he is there.

Only problem is it is a subpar year for draft depth at the QB position (like always when there is a legit long-term need at QB for the 49ers).

lol, oh was that pridedriven who owned them all? I had totally forgotten who owned all those and Lisu i remember you had an insane A Smith collection as well. I think you had his Exquisite RC Logo, whom he shared the front with Jason Campbell or even Charlie Frye, maybe?

I am a 49ers fan too and this is how I think things should have happened.

They should have kept Tim Rattay and passed on Alex Smith. Tim was doing a good job, and let's be honest, the 9ers weren't going to go to the SB that year anyway.
If they waited until the 06 draft to get a QB, they could have got Leinart who would have been a better fit than Smith in the west coast offense.

I'm not sure if Sanchez is the answer at this point in time. I think he would be a good pick if he is available, but there are issues on the o-line, d-line and secondary that need to be addressed pretty quickly. Besides, if they wait for the 2010 draft, there will be QBs available like Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Dan LeFevour, and Todd Reesing.

Just my 2 cents ;)

Yes, I have the logoman with Aaron Rodgers, Alex Smith, Jason Campbell, and Charlie Frye. I still have a lot of his stuff still and hoping that he can pull it together.
