There are tons of items that sell well into the thousands on their website. Watches and art work sell really high.

Wow, that's nuts. I guess they've really taken a turn for becoming a true business. I thought people donate that stuff, so you'd think they wouldnt' be able to just sell stuff for thousands lol... do they donate all their proceeds or are they a non-for-profit?

Goodwill is making sooooo much $$$ off all these free donations. & what's sad is they refuse to hire their workers full time just so they don't have to give them benefits.

Wow, I'm assuming they're a private company or are they public? They are national because I use to live in Cleveland and they were there... I live in Dallas now and they are here.

Here is what YahooFinance says, it's private BTW and this company description might make you go  "Goodwill Industries International supports the operations of about 165 independent Goodwill chapters in the US and Canada. Though most well known for its 2,700 thrift stores, the group focuses on providing rehabilitation, job training, placement, and employment services for people with disabilities and others. Founded in 1902, Goodwill is one of the world's largest providers of such services, as well as one of the world's largest employers of the physically, mentally, and emotionally disabled. Support for its programs is generated primarily from sales of donated goods, both at the retail stores and through an online auction site, as well as from contract work and government grants."

But what percentage of their workers are already receiving government benefits for their disabilities? If many of those workers earn too much in wages they will lose those government benefits. For many of those people there are far too many variables in their lives to risk losing those benefits

Not sure but my guess would be about 25% & maybe 10% management full time. no reason they can't offer full time to the other workers or at least benefits to all. The ones I've talked to about it are not happy working there.

Some people donate high ticket items. Not everyone donates their grandpa's clothes.

I've found several rare and expensive video games in Goodwill runs. I've had a couple of Earthbound carts, a black label Final Fantasy 7 and a Sega CD RPG collection just to name a few.

There are a ton of goodwill stores here in the Baltimore/DC area. I need to start doing some research. I would never know to spend $900 on some photos.
