Umm, I am not sure why people are making this into WAY more that it was. The guy grabbed a bat, yep, but didn't TOUCH anyone, didn't swing the bat, didn't threaten anyone.

Yet, Starting pitchers can PURPOSELY throw a baseball at a hitters head, Hit them, and not get suspended? This happens Damn near daily! Where is the outrage? Where is the SELL SELL SELL thoughts?

Guys, get over it, this isn't nearly as big of a deal as you are trying to make it out to be.

I saw many on field fights, brawls, etc in college, was it a big deal? I saw my coach go into an opposing dugout wanting to fight antoher coach. Who cares.

If you have ever played at a high level, you know that emotions run high, things happen. They don't define you as a person.

Yeah sorry getting into a brawl and grabbing a bat to get in a brawl are 2 different things no matter what you think. Just like assault is much different than assault with a deadly weapon. While it may not define him as a person it defines his state of mind. Which is not good.

Most people don't seem to know that someone doesn't have to actually hit someone else to commit assault. To further your example there's assault and then there's battery.

FACT! Fact and Fact! Every person who drinks isn't a drunk driver, ever gun owner isn't a murderer, as every dude talking XXXX isn't charged with assault/battery.

And fact, every idiot who picks up a bat to a fist fight has issues.

What about every pitcher who uses a foreign object (baseball) to head hunt? Nut job?

If their intention is to hurt the player severely then yes. If its to hit them in the back with a bit of a sting to send a message no.

And lets not forget one inflicts way more damage than the other, had he returned to the field with a ball you would have a great point. but he didnt. He went back to the dugout got the bat then left the dugout again. Its not like the bat just so happened to be in his hand so there is a bit more to this than a guy who threw a ball almost 100 feet away.
