When you show off your collection, does anyone really notice that the Panini or Leaf branded stuff doesnt have logos? Be honest. I've shown off my collection of stuff to lots of family and friends and I havent had one look at them and say "Hey, wait a minute! No Logos!". I've even pointed it out to some and they still didnt care, although they arnt collectors either. Ive had several collectors look and say they didnt notice and didnt seem to bother them either.

Just wondering as we all know that there is a divide between the logo 'must-haves' and the 'doesnt matter' crowd.

I'm part of the doesnt matter crowd and it seems as if Panini & Leaf seems to be doing just fine without the logos and not paying the big license fees.

I haven't had anybody say anything about their being no logos. While I do like having logos on the cards, if the card looks nice I'm not going to complain about the lack of logos. Some of the nicest cards the last couple of years has come from sets put out by Panini. Part of the reason I say this is everything put out by Topps gets stale. A lot of the designs have looked similar to the past years'. Since my focus has shifted to HOF autos this past year, I've noticed Topps using the same pictures of many of them over and over and over. Panini has had many great sets with great looking HOF subjects

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I tend not to show off my collection even if someone asks because they really don't care. And that depth of disinterest really turns me off to wanting to stand there blabbing on and on about something completely meaningless to them. As a result, most people don't even know I collect and I don't encourage the knowledge. Yes, I know you "have some cards in a box in your closet from when you were a kit" and "no, they're probably not worth anything" and if you're not about to just give me the lot then, "no, I don't really want to see them".

Maybe I'm just anti-social.

No, I'm the same way. No reason to show it off to any non-collector.

Out if 3000 plus cards on my site, people are more blown away by the total number of cards I have of just Bagwell, and not that twenty or so of them don't have logos.

People I show my collection to are probably too overwhelmed to even notice that some cards have no logos

Nobody has ever mentioned it - it's more of a personal feeling. If you're just as happy with an unlicensed card then that's that. I have some of both and truth be told I don't really care one way or the other.

I prefer the logos but not having logos is not going to stop me from buying it.

For the most part you clowns are the only ones who have ever seen my collection. You notice.
However, I feel like non collectors are still used to seeing athletes often enough in logo free gear in advertising and such that it doesn't seem that out of the ordinary.

My family knows I collect bb cards. 99% of the people I work with don't know that I collect. I've never had people ask to see my collection. If people around me know I collect. I always get asked do I have a 52 Mantle. And no I don't. I collect what I like. Not to impress others. People say I'm too quiet. It's easier that way.

.....no one cares because they are promo cards.

Maybe I'll pose full frontal (greased up like I swam in crisco obviously) and show my big ass draped in a curtain with a couple of rare promos balancing on it just to get noticed!!

Well...just to carry your point forwards, the card on the left in your sig doesn't show a logo and it looks fine. No worse than the one on the right. Personally I think people just want to have something to gripe about.

Funny you mention that. I've actually told a few people who I know and see a lot at random autograph signings about my Bagwell collection. They collect cards too but I have surmised they buy large lots, similar to what I snagged a few weeks ago, and get them signed in person when they get the chance. It's funny because I'll tell them how many different cards I have, not as bragging(it would be hard to brag to people that have more autos than I have total baseball cards anyways) but just because we'll get into a pretty good discussion about various cards and whatnot and I don't think the word "different" truly clicks with them. They'll sit back and say they must have over 10,000 astros cards and not realize what it's like to have over 4,000 different cards of any one player. But then again I don't think they care. I know people who have thousands upon thousands of IP autos from some of the best players in the game, and players from other sports. One dude has like over 10,000 IP auto'd cards, and that's just his cards! Guy brings his whole family every time there is a signing and gets at least 10 cards, 5 or so photos, balls and mini helmets signed. It's insane. What the hell you do with all those autos I don't know(he won't sell anything). But then again, what the hell do you do with all the cards we have?

My friends may only ask about certain guys, aside from that they could care less.

I pretty much only show off anything I have to non-collectors and it is usually either a somehow relevant player to that person, an interesting card, a really cool looking card, or something valuable.

But no, no one has ever noticed. With that being said, I don't think anyone other than a somewhat knowledgable collector would ever notice.

Kind of a "if you don't look for it, you won't know it's missing" type of thing in most cases IMO

Exactly - that's funny that you pointed that out because it's never even been on my mind. If I inspected each card I could obviously tell you which had a logo but when I pick them up I don't even notice which does and which doesn't

Nope. But I think its not the missing logo so much as the fact that so many of the cards are so well designed that people just don't notice. If the design was less appealing, I could see it being more obvious.
