I think he will be on the Phillies. I think they give up Happ, Drabek, and Dominic Brown. I think they keep Michael Taylor.

It's starting to look like a trade might not happen. Which is too bad, especially since Halladay seems to be looking like he wants to get out now.

Philly. They'll be even more motivated with the Cardinals going from dangerous to very dangerous. The deal will get done with or without Happ. He's probably pitching over his head, so the Jays will take a little less of a sure thing with more upside if need be.

The weird thing about all this is that Halladay desperately wants to remain a Blue Jay. He and his wife are so attached to this city. She burst into tears on the radio broadcast last weekend talking about the possibility of leaving.

The flip side is Doc just really wants to win. He has said he wants to win here but that window seems be closing a tad. I still hold out that bit of hope that things fall into place in 2010 (Marcum's return, emergence of Cecil, Zep, and Romero) and it results in an extension for Halladay. Pipe dreams and false alarms, I'm sure.

Dont count out the White Sox. They had a deal in place for Peavey and he nixed it. Never under estimate the power of Ken Williams.

Looks like Philly just rejected the exact offer I suggested above. I guessed right on the prospects, but I can't believe that Philly didn't pull the trigger on this. The Phillies would have been strong contenders for the WS title this year and next had they done this deal. I can't see why they didn't accept this.
