Not sure how they ended up being in the majors, but in AAA Tino Martinez and Edgar Martinez where super nice guys. I met Alex Rodriguez once when he played in Calgary (AAA), he was also very nice and signed for us all back then.

torii hunter: very friendly and seems like an all around nice guy. even when he couldn't stop to sign, he still waves and smiles - still feels like you went away with something.

vladimir guerrero: of the many times i've seen him at spring training games and a few mlb games, i've never seen him acknowledge any of the fans - especially those didn't have anything for him to sign. maybe it's a language barrier as some say in relation to approaching those wanting autographs, but somehow i think a smile and/or a wave pretty much mean the same in any lanuage.

lesser known player ;)
brandon wood: just a really nice kid and pretty good with signing multiples - still poses for photos for the most part too.

Matt Wieters will sign for a long time. Zimmermann was very quiet signing after a game. Lars Anderson asks for people's names to put on a ball and got into an arguement with a redsox fans about a signed card, Andrew McCutchen didn't say a word signing, and Reddick was cool about signing.

Disappointing to hear about Vladdy. Ive been a fan of his ever since he broke into the league with Montreal.

Not really big time, but Denard Span. A total class act.

Haven't met Span yet. I would say the nicest current Twin I have met is Joe Nathan. Morneau, Mauer and Cuddyer are great guys as well.

There's a guy in the adult baseball league I play in that played in the minors with Reggie Jackson, he said he was the best they ever saw, but everybody wished he would get hurt because he was such a jerk. (I've never met Reggie, just relaying a story)

I think most would agree, Pat Neshek is a class act. Someone mentioned Matt Wieters and gotta agree with that as well. Last year in Bowie before the game he said he would sign after the game. Game ends and he comes right over to us to sign.

Trey Hodges, a former relief pitcher for the Braves, was probably the nicest player I've ever met. I've been a Braves fan forever, even though I live near Philly and for my 13th birthday my dad, brother, grandpop, and I went to Turner Field to see the Braves play. We went to BP very early and I stood in the CF stands and Trey turned aroudn and threw me a ball. I was really nervous and I dropped it and he said to throw it back. I threw it back and then we had a catch for a couple throws. It was definitely a highlight.

That's pretty cool about Wieters. You don't see that much. In some ways I can't believe he remembered. I might have forgotten myself just by accident.

I know this seems like pumping my own guy, but Granderson is a nice guy as well. He talks with fans, and signs stuff all the time. His sig looks like total crap, but hey it's his auto. That's the only downside to collecting Grandy.

a-rod was a **** when i went to a baseball camp at 12-years-old

When I went to a royals game at 12 he talked to me and my bro for around 15 minutes. He was apologetic that he couldn't sign an auto but he did remember mine and bros name after talking.....one of my coolest memories.

Mark Bomback is a pretty cool guy too....not well known but I work with him so it counts :D

Pablo Sandoval, Bengie Molina, and Tim Lincecum are nice guys. Buster Posey also seems like a good guy.

The past few years at spring training I have completely lost any respect i ever had for Reggie. He will sign a ton of autographs when he decides to sign, but he lets people know that they are getting something special. Before he signs anything he will give a little speech about how people should act around him. I have seen him curse around little kids and even yelled at a kid.

Im sure it gets annoying when everyone is asking for an auto, but a simple no, or not now will do.

Nicest Players:
Derek Jeter: Even though he rarely signs, he never is mean and always acknowledges the fans. He is all business before a game so he doesnt converse with the fans that much but he is respectful.

Pat Venditte: If anybody ever gets the chance to meet or talk with him, it is an awesome experience. My Dad and I met him down in Yankees spring training this year and he was great to talk to. He understands the game great and knows that he has to prove himself at all times, he does not seem to take anything for granted and is very humble.

Carlton Fisk- The town I live in is about 10 miles from the town he grew up in. His family still lives there and in 2000, the year he was inducted into the hof, I had the chance of meeting him. I had heard stories of him being a ***** but he was actually very nice. We saw him in the parking lot of the local Wal Mart. We went over and I congratulated him on making the Hall of fame and he stopped and talked to us(me and a friend of mine) for 10 minutes or so. We each got his auto on index size pieces of cardboard.(its all we could find in his truck) Really seemed like a great guy.

I've had the good fortune to meet my favorite player, Ryne Sandberg, a couple of times.

The first time, he was at a pre All-Star function for Heineken in 2003. I chatted him up for about 20 minutes and he was a geniunely nice guy.

Then, later that year, I was at game 1 of the Cubs-Marlins NLCS. Sandberg happened to be sitting about 10 rows behind me (we were in ridiculous seats). He saw I was wearing his jersey and sent someone down to ask me if I'd like him to sign it. He didn't remember me from the pre-ASG event, but signed it - along with signing autos for anyone else that wanted one.

He's a real class act.

I have to agree with you Granderson is a great guy.
I have never met him personally but just watching him at games signing and talking to fans looks like he is having a blast. Like for easter he signed a bunch of plastic easter eggs and handed them out to the kids before the game.
and he is on twitter talking about the games and stuff.

Thanks
Ryan
