So, when it comes down to it, which would you rather have for your collection? (i.e. Not which would you rather have to flip).

I consider them all rookies whether they are parallel or not.

I'm not too choosey. Ok, I do have a thing for gold.

I'm talking in the same set not sets years apart. The mlbpa rc is meaningless to me. Those are cards for suckers.

I'm not so sure I understand the question. Are we talking from the same set for the true RC and the parallel? I only ask because parallels from the same set aren't considered true rookie cards my the standard definition. If we are talking about cards from the same set, gimme the parallel.

I'm more about eye-appeal. What's going to both keep value and look good? Yeah yeah... gold is nice... but I'm a little partial to blue:

(my brother pulled this a while back)

For me, the answer to this question depends upon the scarcity of both options. If the true RC has a significantly low print run, I may prefer it to the parallel. In addition, if the parallel isn't serialized, I may once again go for the true RC instead.

In 2008 Bowman Chrome's case, I will take the parallels over RCs eight days a week.

I really liked these tough pulls.

The retro/future parallel gave the collector a completely different card...not just a different color border, or different color tint.

Overall, the 2000 Retro/Future parallels bombed...but I still love those Retro/Future Refractor parallels - unnumbered but somewhere in the 50-75 total print run range.

I prefer refractors, regardless of whether they are serial numbered or not. I just think they look better.

As far as other parallels go for other companies, I would probably prefer whatever parallels are close to /50 or /100, as anything less than that can get pricey.

parallel. gold refractors. love the looks of it, not too short printed where it is unattainable yet rare enough
