Which inserts from 2000s will have the following like 1990s?

Which inserts/parallels of the 2000s will continue to have the following/collectibility like those from the 1990s (1991 Topps Desert Shield, 1993 Finest Refractors, 1994 UD SP Red Holoview, etc...)?

These are the one's that grab my attention when I look through my collection.

I agree with you about Finest, but I disagree with you about Playoff Prestige and the Absolute parallels. I think Prestige is a little bit too cheap looking to catch on and it doesn't have that "pop" that really popular parallel sets have. I don't think Absolute parallels will catch on because there's too many different parallels for each insert.

I think that these days it's parallels rather than inserts that usually command the premium prices.

But autographed insert sets will probably be desirable. Especially on-card sets. Goudey Graphs comes to mind.
I think Finest Moments counts as an insert, and they will probably maintain their popularity, especially the parallels.

And not that they aren't already popular, but Heritage black chromes could increase in value in future years.

Heritage is an extremely popular set and the black chromes are beautiful looking cards, and numbered low (# to 50's/60).

I guess those are parallels and not insets, so maybe that doesn't count.

I agree with this statement simply because there is distinct difference between 90's and 00's sets, the line is kind of fuzzy for 2000 and 2001.

Some of the reason 90's inserts are so popular is
1. They are attractive (Very few recent sets can rival the 90's)
2. They are rare (Everything is numbered now a days, in the 90's something numbered to 2500 was rare)
3. They weren't overkilled (I believe 4 different versions of 1 card is the max)
4. The 90's sets were focused on the insert (Now it is rookies, GU, and the Auto)

There are some very attractive 2000's cards and there are sets that still have very good followings (Topps Pristine, Finest and Heritage come to mind) but on the whole there will not be nearly the demand for the inserts.

Not to mention, sequels do NOT work well, no matter if it's a movie or insert set.

While folks always like cards that look nice, are rare, etc., among the most popular will always be the cards that will bring back nostalgia

So will I be buying cards ten years from now that I didn't collect now when they were first released? Probably not - assuming of course the reason I'm not buying the cards now is not because of affordability issues.
