I know it's still very early in the free agent signing period, but let's see who did the best so far... by best, I mean best deal for the money. I will update this poll when other free agents are signed... and only players with more than one year contracts.

how about putz-mets

That was a trade...

wow im out of it.Sorry

I say
Kerry Wood - Indians

Yeah, it was a touch choice for me between C.C. and Wood... Wood could be the closer the Indians have needed for years and might just push them into being a true contender.

I like the signing, but it is not enough years to make it the best IMO.

It's actually the perfect amount of years for the money, and the player. Top closers usually have a shelf life of about 2-3 years in deals like this. The amount the Mets are paying him is peanuts compared to guys like Sabathia.

CC has to live up to 5 of those 7 years to make it worthwhile. K-rod needs to only perform at the top of his game for 2 years to make it worthwhile.

I'm totally jaded here, but to me, dollar for dollar it's the Hampton signing by the Astros.

If he had the ability to throw a baseball more than a couple games a year, I would agree, but he's a constant on the DL... with no end in sight.

Obviously time will tell, but in my opinion the Mets signing of K-Rod for the length and money is brilliant.

The Rays filled their biggest hole by bringing in Burrell to DH. Got a good deal on him, and didn't have to sign him to a long term deal to get him. Everyone else had to pay big, offer very long contracts, or both to get their players.

I have to think the Mets and K-Rod, only for the fact that he will have a huge impact for the team, they really really needed him.

Met fans are funny. They'll be even more funny when year two kicks in to this contract.

In honor of Francisco Rodriguez pleasing the Mets fans, let's sing a little "Damaged Goods" by legendary GANG OF FOUR.

"Damaged goods
Send them back
I cant work
I cant achieve
Send me back
Open the till
Give me the change
You said would do me good
Refund the cost
You said youre cheap but youre too much
Your kiss so sweet
Your sweat so sour
Sometimes Im thinking that I love you
But I know its only lust
The change will do you good
I always knew it would
You know the change will do you good
You know the change will do you good"

lol @ whoever voted for Burnett or Renteria.

Personally, only Burrell and maybe KRod seemed smart to me.

The Riverlands.
Mark Teixeira because of the fact that the Yankees lost Giambi, which was not a big deal. Although, the Yanks obviously needed a first baseman and now they get power from both sides of the plate. This is the bigest because the Yankees came out of the mist and stole another big fish.
