I think its funny that you won't acknowledge that Jackson is a great back in his own right this season.

Sure about that? :|

My bad.

No worries. Just ask Wheeler how big a fan me and him are/were of SJax ;) .

I really do wish Jackson would get traded to the Steelers or something. :)

I'd love to see him on a contender before it gets to late in his career. He'd be even more fun to watch.

AND it would rest the case of "how much better" he'd be with a different Oline. Guess we'll never really know. For now anyway...

I agree, it would quickly end the debate.lol Right or wrong I look at how Dillon exploded w/ the Pats and I wonder what Jackson could do on a better team.

What?

How is me saying there is a big difference between a fantasy player and a real player a question about draft strategy?

Like I said, his long runs inflate the averages. (Uh... yeah??... :? ) Jackson only has one game this season with under 80 total yards, can you say the same about Johnson?

LOLOLOLOL!!!!! Wow... this route will fail you miserably as well. No problem. How many games has Jackson had a big game like CJ has?

Once again, I am talking about which back I think will help my team win more games over the course of the season, who fits in as part of the team best. You asked which RB I would rather have, not which RB is having a better season. Yes, Johnson is having a better season, but I believe that Jackson will help a REAL team, not a fantasy one, win more games over the course of a full season.

Drop the fantasy BS for once would ya? You're the only one talking about that anymore, I dropped it since it offended you so much. I refer to them strictly as "stats" now. Big difference, I know! ::facepalm::

So what you're saying is, is CJ won't be able to help the Titans win games like SJax would for the Rams?

I never said that Johnson won't help the Titans win games, I said I don't want to have to rely on the big play to win a game, I'd rather play it safe with a guy who will grind it out for four quarters. Johnson isn't going to bust a 60+ yard TD run every single game.

Yes, Johnson has more big play potential, but I would rather have Jackson on my team because he will put up solid #'s every single week for the most part.

I'm not arguing this with you anymore though, nothing anyone says will change your mind, it's obvious how much you like Johnson.

Johnson is a great back who is very fun to watch, I just feel over the course of a season Jackson will help a team win more games than Johnson does.

Long haul I would also take Chris Johnson, but I assumed that the question meant who would I rather have in the present-day. If this was pick a guy to be on my team for the next 5-7 years and beyond I would say Johnson, but right now I would want Jackson.

You make it seem like I'm arguing just because I'm a fan of Chris Johnson... What you don't seem to understand is that I've BEEN a fan of SJax well before Chris Johnson came along. It's not a matter of homering out and picking "my guy". The bottom line is that CJ is on pace with NFL history and the record books this season. CJ is argueably the fastest man in the NFL at the moment. Why would I want any other RB right now? To be honest, this thread should have been CJ vs AP.

SJax, while yes he is a great RB, argueably one of the best in the business, isn't on CJ's level right now. But to be fair, I don't really think anyone else is either. That's not discounting ANYONE'S skills. Just calling it like I see it.

In my mind, it's kinda like the Emmitt-Barry argument of years past. CJ is the more explosvie back, especially right now, but I think Steven is the better all-around back.

And I am still ticked when Jackson fell to the Cowboys in the draft, and they didn't take him. They were concerned about his back, so they traded down and took Julius Jones.

Matt Schaub has the 2nd best fantasy stats for QB's. I can name more than 8-10 QB's I'd rather have.

Please do so then. Name more than 10 QB's you would rather have than Shaub.

I'd take these for sure in this order:

Peyton Manning
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Ben Roethlisberger
Philip Rivers
Eli Manning
Matt Ryan
Aaron Rodgers
Tony Romo
Joe Flacco

I would also take Warner and Favre today for any one game but not overall due to age.

Anything else I can help with or were you just wasting time for exercise?

Don't want to get away from the original content, but I only see 4 QB's there I'd rather have than Schaub. (P Manning, Brees, Roethlisberger, Brady) The only thing that bothers me about Schaub is his frailty.

Easily Steven Jackson for me. With tht being said, Jackson will break down quicker, but he is a MUCH more complete back.

I would have placed him just below Rivers on that list.

If he could somehow stay healthy (and the Texans developed consistent offensive line play), Schaub would be talked abotu a lot more.

I agree, the thread derailed from the topic and I'll take my part in the blame for that. The point was though that fantasy numbers and game numbers are not equivalent, and the truth of the matter is that stats in general do not define players. Schaub may be the #2 fantasy QB but I doubt anyone will make the claim he is the second best QB in the league, even just in the window of this season and be objective about that statement. He's a darn good QB and I think he's proving that Houston was more than smart in making that move.

As I said in my opinion on the two RB's, I think it comes down to a personal preference in playing style. They are two different beast and they are both great players in their own right.
