A weird question I know because any worthless set should be easily obtainable.

But I'll throw it out there.

For me, my all time favorite set is 1987 topps and while I still own a hand set I made as a kid, It would cool imho if I could ever build one with wax stains on back each.

There's zero scarcity of this product but having the set I wrote above would probably be the only one ever assembled, yet even more worthless.

Probably 1993 Topps. With that being my birth year, I feel like I should pick one up some day

Ya know, I've always wanted a set of 1999 Skybox Thunder, just to read all the inane and splendidly stupid "raps" on the back of the cards. Highly entertaining.

"One ... two ... three, four, five. Brother, your game is all the way live. With all your skillz, you're bound to thrive."

I also want those Circa base sets from 1996, 1997 and 1998 that had quotes on them from other players. I'd like to do a spreadsheet of whose quote is on whose cards. Player collectors might want to pick them up as oddballs if their player was quoted on another player's card.

91 Studio, I remember how popular they were when they came out and I was a kid and I always wanted some but didn't have the money for them.

1989 Topps was the first set I ever collected. Not sure if I ever had the whole set but I know the cards aren't in great shape since I was 6 at the time.

Cards 1-792 ;)

Maybe one day I'll buy a wax case or two (and go through whatever I already have), break it and start this endeavour. Thanks though

I would like a 1984 Donruss set. Not exactly worthless, but less than many packs these days. I stopped collecting in 1983, came back in 1991. I don't think I have ever owned a single 1984 Donruss card.

One "worthless" set that I always wanted to own is 1997 Fleer E-X 2000. I remember when these first came out I thought they were super cool. I don't think anyone had really done the see through card thing at that point. They were just way too expensive for me to buy at the time. I believe packs were around $5.00 - $8.00 for 4 cards or so. I bought one pack and was really disapointed because I didn't get anything good, but I was recently able to pick up the whole set fairly inexpensively. I still want to get the Griffey Essential Credentials version but it might be out of my price range by now.

All of the key mid to late 80's sets are great canidates as well so it's nice to see them pop up. I also enjoyed 91 and 92 topps, I think topps put a lot of effort in choosing great photo's those years.

I built every Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Score and Upper Deck set from 1981 to 1992, so I'm covered in the worthless set department.
However, I love most of those '80s sets, so they're worth much more to me than their actual value.

Still need a coupla cards for my '88 Chef Boyardee set.

But the sets I do LOVE are the over-sized (5x7 I think) "Donruss Action Stars" sets. '83-85? or so. Same designs as that years base set. Bought a whole bunch of unsorted singles a year or so ago. I have 'em sorted but not full sets yet...
