**disclaimer** this list is in no way perfect. I tried to choose players who've played at least 2 seasons in the pros (so no prospects) and still have several more years to play and prove their HoF worth. I tried to avoid picking guys close to the end of their careers who are either locks or on the fence.

I wanted to make a larger list and include some guys that have only played 1 year, but I could only put 10 names down. Here's some others I might have included just for fun:

Albert Pujols (didn't include initially 'cause I'd say most would consider him a lock already barring injury)
Justin Upton (for no other reason that I like the guy :D )
Dustin Pedroia
Jason Bay
Jacoby Ellsbury
Evan Longoria
BJ Upton
Alex Rios
Carlos Quentin
Joe Mauer
Josh Hamilton
Jose Reyes
Geovany Soto
Alfonso Soriano
Jay Bruce
Brandon Philips
Troy Tulowitzki
Russell Martin
Adrian Gonzalez

Yes some of these have a long ways to go and some are long shots, but I thought it would be fun to hear some opinions. If you want to voice your opinion on one of the poll guys, extra guys, or someone else I forgot, feel free to do so.

When projecting long term success it is important to take athletic ability into account. Most players that play long enough to make the HOF are either very athletic or work very hard to stay in top shape. Of course there are those that can just flat out mash like Manny and Pujols but most HOFers are good, if not great athletes.

What about guys like Carl Crawford then? Supposedly a great athlete that was recruited by top programs in other sports as well. He hasn't really put up numbers suggesting he's heading for the Hall of Fame yet, but could he improve and have a long enough career to get there? Should I have put him on the list? (I read that back and hope it doesn't sound like I'm playing devil's advocate, just really interested in opinions)

I'd say there are 3 guys on that list who have a real good shot talent wise. Another coupple who could eventually turn in to the HOF caliber player and a bunch who will go to the pasture in time..
