No way. Also, Sheff won't get in because of the steroids and because the media doesn't like him

Never. He will be very lucky if he ever gets in with his PED issues. Another guy still playing who might have a good shot is Vlad Guerrero, provided he can do a few more years.mlbsalltimegreats said:I know he is not a popular choice but I think Gary Sheffield will make first ballot.

Besides Pete Rose and Shoeless Joe, ALL elgible players not connected with steroids, with a score higher than 135 are in the HOF.

So we're going with Jeff Bagwell (149) being a lock? I wouldn't vote for him, but I'm a tight-*** with my votes.
I could possibly be convinced, but I'm not there:
4 time All-Star
ROY
one MVP
one Gold Glove
career .297 BA
2314 hits
449 HR
He was a decent HR hitter and RBI producer, but in the "steroid era" of which he has been suspected as well.
I'm saying good player, no to the HOF.

As For Sheffield Mark my words He will get in! I may agree with you that not first ballot but I would not even be suprised if he did. Out of all the Current Members of the 500 Hr club Sheffield is 5th in terms of Strikeout to Walk ratio Behind Barry Bonds, Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Mel Ott Then Sheffield telling me he was one of the best Long ball Contact hitters of all time. Now trust me I had not idea Sheff had some of the numbers he has until I looked and did some research. Thats going to be very hard to overlook! As for Ped he is no more suspect than Pudge (I think Pudge will get First ballot) and a lot of other players.

not so sure on that, his career numbers arent yet there, imo. 407 HRs, 2200 hits, 1300 RBIs, .320 lifetime with the one AL MVP and zero World series rings is first ballot HOF?

YES, absolutely. he put those numbers up faster than most. 12 consecutive seasons of 25+hR and .300 (only other player to do that is Lou Gehrig)
doesn't have magic numbers, but one of the best hitters of his time.
FIRST BALLOT, not even a question
