critics said the same about big ben, eli, and brady...kurt warner, drew brees, shall i continue?
No, please stop, my eyes are burning.

i'm not saying he's gonna win 5 super bowls....i'm just saying he can turn into matt schaub or matt cassell who got HUGE bumps in prices after they came in and tore it up after a FEW games and TEAMS wanted them both...i'm talking about getting cards cheap and flipping them if they get hot, not saying he's the NEXT ONE...but doubling, tripling, or even a rare quintuple would be nice for any second stringer...

Here's the thing, Clausen has already had his shot. He started half his rookie year in Carolina, and get this...... he was horrible.

None of the other guys you just mentioned have ever been horrible.

False. Eli looked pretty awful his first year as a starter and Peyton didn't look fantastic his rookie year either. It takes time to develop most QB's. Will Clausen be a great pro? Probably not, but it's way too early to say definitively.

Hey Farva! What is your opinion on Jimmy Clausen?

I obviously like the dude but I don't see him lighting **** up. Career backup. My money would be on Quinn to actually step in and do something in the NFL more than Jimmy.

Sorry, I thought we were going with a Super Troopers bit. Actually, I'm not sorry - I blame you for not running with it. Shame on you.

I like Brady Quinn too.

Clausen was always overrated I was glad he was a second rounder and not a late first rounder. I don't even know if he'll be a career backup, I think he might have to start looking for a day job

Ben Tate. Backup to the #1 RB in the league. Still had almost 1,000 yards and a 5.4 YPC average.

I like your thinking. It's so much easier to be a breakout guy if you're on a good team already. Also, being a backup RB to a guy that didn't play all his games last year is another plus.

The best way to think about this is to think in terms of fantasy football. How often does a player bust out in the middle of a year that's not a RB? Not often. Sometimes you have an occasional WR like Cruz last year. However, very rarely do you find a QB busting out.

I don't see this next season being a good time to bust out as a QB. There's going to be so much hype surrounding Luck and RGIII that even if a backup QB broke out no one would know.
