1. LeBron James
2. Dwight Howard
3. Chris Paul
4. Kobe Bryant
5. a healthy Dwyane Wade. (Well, you did say 2010, and at his injury pace, he'll be dead by then.)

Stephon Marbury.

Yeah right.

Here would be my top five.

1) Chris Paul- The man knows how to run a team, and he's always looking to pass first. If he wanted, he could drop thirty points a game, but he'd rathe get his teamates involved, and be a team player.

2) Dwight Howard- The dude is a great guy, and makes people feel comfortable when they're around him. He is the most dominate big man in the league, and he'll continue to be this dominate for a long time, because he is so athletic.

3) Billups- He might be getting a little too old, but this man is a leader. He had alot of support in Detroit, but he was still a big part of their success. Now he gets traded to Denver, and he is leading the team towards the top of the West, something A.I. could'nt do.

4) LeBron- He's proved that he has what it takes to get far into the playoffs, with barely any help, and he's done this before the age of 24. Now that he has a great second option in Mo, the Cavs will go far, and they've proved that they're for real. 20-1 at home? Unreal.

5) Dirk- The best shooting big man of all time..maybe the best shooter ever. Get a great PG to support him, and you're set. Just look at how good they're doing now wih Kidd.

Yeah, I didn't take age into account (in 2010) when I thought of mine.

Lebron, then Howard. Paul a close third, but there are more good point guards (Deron, Felton, Nash, Baron Davis, Kidd, Sessions, Felton, even some of the rooks in Westbrook, Bayless and Augustin)around now then a multi-dimensional Lebron or beastly center in Dwight.

1. Lebron James - There is not another play in the league like him. Better than everyone else on the court, and still gets his teammates involved. Match up problems for every team.

2. Dwight Howard - 20 pts - 14 boards - 3 blocks a night, and he's still getting better.

3. Chris Paul - The best point guard in the league, and the only thing harder to find than a great point guard is a dominant big man.

4. Dwayne Wade - I know there are the injury concerns, but he's already taken a team on his back to win a title. If he's healthy and has any supporting cast his team will be good.

5. OJ Mayo - His stats are nearly identical to Durant's rookie year, but I feel like Mayo brings more to the table for options. He seems like a better 3 point shooter, ball handler, and defender than Durant.

My order would be:

#1 Kobe Bryant- I think he has 5-6 GOOD years left before he starts tailing off.

#2 Lebron James- He will be the best all around player in a few years if not already.

#3 Chris Paul- He makes people better. Case in point, David West(pre chris paul) Tyson chandler(pre chris paul) and now.

#4 Dwight Howard- Guy is a beast, amazing player but I rated him #4 because He needs another player IMO to win.

#5 D. Wade- When healthy this guy is a top 5 guy in the league hands down.

#1-2 can be swapped IMO.

4-5 can be swapped as well.

and for argument sakes:

#6 Chris Bosh
#7 O.J Mayo
#8 Al Jefferson
#9 Kevin Durant

I know some people are Kobe fans, and I don't disagree he is a great player. I'll say right now that if I want to win one game I want him or Lebron. If I'm building a team and have my pick anyone, Kobe probably isn't in my top 10. Every time I watch him or read about him all I think is he is a terrible teammate. Doesn't this hurt him at all when picking who you would base your team around?

I think too many people base the KOBE/Shaq debacle on this. If you ask a lot of people, Shaq was to blame if not most too blame(he has wanted out in three places in his career, ORL(same ordeal with Penny that he had with Kobe), Lakers, and the Heat, I wouldn't be surprised if he wants out of AZ soon(no surprise that Amare wants out now that Shaq is there). That and the fact that Jerry Buss has come out and said Shaq wanted it to either be him or Kobe and he wanted too much money so he picked Kobe. I think it is known now that Kobe is one of the best teammates in the league. Everyone currently on the Lakers loves him. I will not disagree he was very selfish in his teenage/early 20's, however he has grown. If I want to build a team(realistically 3-4 years for a team is a great run, I take him #1).
