I'm not bragging when I say this - I'm letting you know how small of a high school I went to: I'm the best baseball player from my high school. Still hold most of the records. I think we were a single A team at one point but eventually got into AA by getting a foreign exchange student or something that pushed us over the minimum requirements. That being said, there are a lot of schools in our league that have guys drafted. It seems to be about one or two a year. More recently Travis Jankowski and Cameron Gallagher. I think Jeff Bianchi is on the Brewers now. And I played against Chris Heisey in high school.

For whatever reason soccer was more prevalent in that district.

Never knew Gorzelanny went to Marist. I went one year to Andrew HS in Tinley Park

I went to Saint John's High School in Shrewsbury MA. Here is our list (copied from Wikipedia, hence the links). Obviously the big one is Ron Darling. Kind of sucked to have a kid from MA be on the Mets team that beat the Red Sox in 1986...the interesting story there was that on the Red Sox team was Rich Gedman - also from my home town (different high school). He and Darling played against each other in high school and then again in the WS!

I went to Marina High School in Huntington Beach.

The ones that I know of were:

Brock Pemberton - few games with the Mets in the mid 70's

Kevin Elster - pretty good career

Marc Newfield - played with the Mariners, Brewers and Padres in the 90's

Daric Barton

Justin Sellers - good prospect with the Dodgers right now

Seems like there may have been others, but I can't find any

Did find out, via Wikipedia that actor Joe Penny and guitarist Dave Mustaine also attended my high school. Mustaine attended a year ahead of my sister. :p

Nobody anybody has ever heard of (Oak Ridge High School, Oak Ridge, TN). However, the year I graduated (1992) our arch rival, Knoxville Central, had some guy in their senior class named Todd Helton. He was a pretty good ball player in high school. Wonder whatever happened to him? :D Two years before him (or maybe it was 1 year, I forget) was a guy named Bubba Trammell. He spent a few years in the big leagues.

One of my best friends growing up, and who lived across the street from me (parents still live there), is the kicker for the Carolina Panthers (formerly Dolphins, Saints, and Seahawks)... Olindo Mare.

Bobby Estalella was a year behind me and was drafted by the Phils...

I do not believe anyone from here was drafted, but I don't know for sure. I do know that nobody made it to the Majors.

I think someone made it to the Twins organization, but I don't think he was drafted. Other than that, I know that we had one player make AF2 (specifically the Iowa Barnstormers) and we had another play professional basketball in Europe.

I am happy to report that Chief Bender is from Minnesota though.

Not Baseball, but JJ Watt of the Texans. That's one more than I ever expected and a pretty damn good one.

Not sure about all of them but the two best that went to Point Loma high in San Diego were Don Larsen and David Wells.

Pretty cool that two Yankee pitchers to throw PGs went to my high school.
