Over a whole season I would take JMJ over Golson and twice on sundays. Both players k a lot, but JMJ has improved his plate discipline every year. So basically you have 1 player who k's a lot but has massive power and another who has little power and k's a lot.

A: AA/AAA: .264 Ave., 20 HR, 10 SB, .797 OPS - average/mediocre defense at the corner.
B: AA: .282 Ave., 13 HR, 23 SB, .767 OPS - stellar defense in center field, 2 years younger.

Kid runs like a deer, gold glove centerfield talent, has tools to be a excellent hitter. If you read any scouting report when he was drafting, everyone thought the bat would come last, and it has. I remember VERY long discussions in the Angels draft room about Golson vs Phil Hughes, because at that time, there were no thoughts that Jered Weaver would fall to us. MANY guys liked golson to hughes.

I am a golson fan. I think he is a superstar talent, and will find his way. He is the classic, raw, 5 tool talent just coming into his own.

Overall, I'd say this is one of the less entertaining ST polls we've had. Both players bore the heck out of me. Some speed, some defense, but barely enough talent to be considered replacement level players right now (although, I'd take JMJ if I had to choose between the 2 -- Mayberry--.260-.270 hitter with a shot at 20-30 home runs in Arlington/ Golson --.260 hitter, horrible OBP/OPS below .800, 15 to 20 home runs, 20+ SB ).

Let's get a different poll up
Maybe MadBum vs. Mike Stanton in a home run derby or something like that
Or maybe LaPorta vs. The Universe in everything

I like Mayberry better for the Phils and here's why.

Against left handed pitchers he hit .350, 7 2B, 2 3B, 8 HR, and a 11/6 SO/BB ratio in 100 AB's. With the Phillies lineup stacked with lefties I think he will be a nice fit.

I also voted Golson.
