Who Should be the Phillies closer?

It's been the hot topic all week around here, so I'll put it out there and see where it ends up.

Looks like they're going to try Madson with a 1 run lead and Braun/Fielder leading off the bottom of the 9th.
We'll see if it goes better for them than it did yesterday. Hope not.

Pedro wins with Madsen 2nd in this voting. We'll see...

I think it could turn into a day-to-day thing where everyone will close at some point, mostly going by the matchups coming up in the batting order. It should be very interesting to see how it all shakes out.

If the Phills want to win another title it won't be Lidge. I've seen this movie before and the ending sucks for Lidge's team. I don't know wtf he put in his Wheaties last year but he has now sucked every year but one since late 2005.

I think they just need to tell Lidge to sit, tough as it is. One Mitch Williams this lifetime is enough.

Agreed. And it's far interesting that most of the board agrees with me on Pedro. I think he would be the savior to the Phillies if they used him in the closer role.

I just know, 100% without a doubt, they won't do it.

Hopefully Madson gets like 3 opportunities to do it before playoffs. He needs confidence!

If they aren't going to use a starter like Pedro, Myers, Happ, or anyone else, and Madson pitches like he did earlier in the closer role, they have to go to Park.

Lidge is NOT the answer. He won't have it together come playoffs.
