Griffey, Frank Thomas, Jeter, Pujols
are pretty much the fan favorites but as all but Pujols will probably be retiring soon (plus I am not sure Pujols has won over the hearts like the others have), so who do you think will fill their shoes? Not necessarily the best, just who do you think has the all-around fan favorite personality including skill, charisma, likable character. Bonds was probably the best, but was an ass, so he is an example of why I say, don't just pick the best, but who do you think is well like by a majority (there will always be haters), for both what the bring both on and off the field.

Who will win the hearts of baseball fans.
Who will be the top fan favorites in year 2015

I think Joe Mauer definitely has the perfect combination of skill and character to become a fan favorite in 5 or so years. The only question is whether he's durable enough to sustain catching for that long. If he moves to first base like some are saying, then he'll be one of the best first basemen but not THE best like he currently is at catcher. However, he is extremely likable and is very young still. In Minnesota, he's already a HUGE star. It's just more attention all around the league that will catapult him into a fan favorite.

I went Mauer and Longoria. Longoria is already pretty much the golden boy of the most recent wave of young talent. Mauer is like the perfect storm. He plays for his hometown team, he's arguably the 2nd best player in baseball now that he's added power, does everything well, he's good looking, considered a leader, humble, hard working, but not boring. Also, both these players play for teams that don't garner many negative feelings from fans outside their fanbase, unlike the New York teams, the Red Sox, etc.

I'd go with Mauer, mostly because he's a Twinkee I like and the best at his position. I prefer a hitter that can be counted on and not just a windmill that sometimes hits but usually whiffs.

Why is Cabrera an option but not Pujols? That doesn't make much sense to me.

I also voted for Hanley and Other-Braun.

Why are there no pitchers?

Too many pitchers go by the "way-side"...only takes one injury...

besides, i think if maddux and johnson were the last generation, I already believe we have replacement for next generation...halladay and johan...pitchers with less than 5 years shouldn't even be considered imho...

Why the hell Pablo Sandoval on there?

The guy has a lot of character and charisma...i think he will draw a lot of fan favorites, and even here currently is tied for 3rd. It's also fun to see a fat boy slide :P
