You don't need to post anything, just vote. I'm interested to see if anyone agrees with me..

I know it's early too, yes.

I think Matusz will make it as a pitcher, he would be 4-0 if their bullpen didn't suck.

Matusz is the logical answer but I don't think he'll make it. In all likelihood, he won't have an impressive W-L record and thus won't make the cut.

My vote is Tejada. He's bound to have somewhat respectable numbers and there likely won't be a logjam of worthy 3Bmen.

Arod, Longoria + Michael Young would probably go ahead of Miggy.

Arod and Longoria, no doubt. But lots of otherwise worthy guys end up left off because a horrible team needs a representative. I can see Tejada sneaking in that way. That's all I'm saying.

worst rule in baseball. this isnt the UN ;) .. no need for at least 1 representative ::facepalm::

I mean, if a team has 0 allstars, then why should one go? can the allstar game be about the best players playing together?

I remember when the rays sucked they had to find someone to send each year. Randy Winn is an awesome player (and one of my faves) but there were like 35 better hitters than him one year.
It also puts the NL at a disadvantage, as there are 16 "forced players" vs. 14.

dont know which O's player will go, but I hope they earn it.

I disagree. It is stupid however that the game is used to determine home field advantage. The All-Star game is supposed to be for the fans. I feel that it's a good thing for a fan of every team to have their player to root for in the game.

I agree with you on that. esp. with the "forced player rule" in place. home field advantage doesnt make sense in an allstar game. overall interleague records are more accurate, or just both WS teams records.

maybe if the game returns to nothing on the line the randy winn rule makes more sense, but I still think it balances out. if your team is bad you need to suck it up and wait till next year. at lot of times due to these lower rated players being on the roster they dont get to play anyways which I think is an even bigger crime.

I have heard a lot about the juggling act managers have had to do to fill the need for 1 from each team. they have actually wanted to pick, say, a hitter from a team but that would mean they would have to take a pitcher from another, so they would have to do a 3 way swap. ::facepalm::

While I know O's fans will never forgive Cito, he's an unfair villain for that one. The real story was that the O's specifically asked Cito not to use Mussina in the game as it wasn't his day to throw. Cito knew this. Mussina was told in the clubhouse. Mussina then warmed up without being asked, knowing he would not pitch. Of course, to everyone at Camden it appeared as though Gaston had called for Mussina to warm up and then never put him in. Mussina put Gaston in a horrible position that night. Google links to numerous articles about the event.

Wieters because there are not alot of good catchers. As poorly as V Mart is playing, that will open up a spot for Wieters.
