which is fine by me :)

And me.

Agreed. The only problem is that the NFC West is weakened even more and looks like even more of a lame duck when compared to the other divisions.

meh. You know, I was thinking about this...for the last 5 years an NFC West team was in the Super Bowl. Now, I understand our division isn't the best, but we have been there right with other divisions.
Explain your 5 year theory?

Besides, people can sleep on the NFC west all they want... sure make that team look even worse when an NFC west team beats them! :)[/quote:3lphnqgj]

Brian Robiske. It's a continuation of his Freshman slump ...

Sanchez... if they give him more lead way, he will throw even more picks.... best bet is keep running as mush as possible, like they did in the post season.

Glen Coffee- heard he doesn't plan on seeing much action this year!

I disagree with the Shonn Greene and Mike Wallace picks. I think Wallace will lead the Steelers in rec. and Greene is a beast! Im thinking 1500 yds possibly.

I am going against the Sanchez nay-sayers. I think this kid will do some great things this year, like lead his team to a Super Bowl.

2005- Seattle vs. Pittsburgh
2006- Indy vs. Chicago
2007- NYG vs. New England
2008- Pittsburgh vs Arizona
2009- New Orelans vs. Indy

oh...just re-read what I wrote. I forgot to put twice at the end of the sentence. My bad it should have read:

for the last 5 years an NFC West team was in the Super Bowl twice

My fault.

Mike Wallace
Id be interested in your reasoning on this. I think Wallace is the Steelers #1 receiver this year and think 1,000 yard and 6td as long as who ever the qb is is able to stand upright long enough to get the ball away! I think the guy who has the biggest down year for Pittsburgh is going to be Mendy...Was only imp[ressive in a couple spots last year. I am hopeing for a solid performance I am just not sold on him...

As far as the original question I cant say sanchez is going to have a slump like slaton and forte did because they both had great rookie years..The Jets team carried Sanchize not the other way around!!!

My preddiction is Harvin and for most of the reasons that were already stated in this thread..plus he a Florida guy and we all know Florida guys dont do well in the NFL..LOL..Just kidding it has nothing to do with his college

Haha, I was going to correct you too ;)

A guy I see having a sophomore slump: Knowshon Moreno. I mean, he wasn't THAT great last season, but I can see him doing worse, just because the passing game won't be the same without Marshall, so defenses can put 8 in the box and stuff the run.

the Broncos need Royal to pull out of his sophomore slump from last year and Thomas to take Marshall's place...big shoes, but guys tend to do it in Denver! I think the Broncos will be ok this year.... should contend for a wild card as they also play the NFC West teams.

I didn't think of this question until I saw the thread.....and I still haven't come up with an answer.
I'm probably forgetting a couple people that would qualify......but off the top of my head I can't think of too many rookies that really exceeded expectations last year.

You have a lot of guys like Nicks, Crabtree, Britt, Moreno, Wells, Stafford, Freeman, etc. that put up decent numbers and showed potential that they can build upon them....but nothing like the 08 class with Slaton, Forte, Johnson, Ryan, Flacco, Rice, and the list goes on of guys who had quality starter numbers right out of the gate.

If were just talking about last year's class - it may be more appropriate to ask who breaks out from that large group of "good" players. Or to answer the slump question, I guess you have to base it on expectations - and in that case I may have to say Greene or Sanchez - because of the hype on the Jets.
