According to fangraphs batting WAR: Alcides Escobar closely followed by Chone Figgins. Figgins is the least valuable player by total WAR with Aubrey Huff and Miguel Tejada not far behind.

Can you look up Escobar's defensive WAR? No arguement her, I'm just on my phone and its crazy annoying to try and compare stats like that.

Defensive WAR(position value plus defensive value) of 8.9. 2nd among AL shortstops behind Alexi Ramirez. Total WAR of (0.2). Last among qualifying AL shortstops in total WAR. If he could just do something with the bat...

Got to see him play several games against the Rangers this season. Pains me to say it but I think he is a better defensive SS than Andrus. Andrus has tons of range and a big arm but he sometimes gets out of control when he has to cover alot of ground to get a ball. Escobar stays calm and under control the whole time.
