From my team is Matt Hasselbeck and Steve Largent. I enjoy collecting Brian Bosworth, but I've heard SOO many bad stories about him (I never saw anything, too young to pay attention). I think both Matt and Steve are VERY upstanding guys who are/were great leaders to the team and community!

From around the league, I agree w/ AP. Amazing how talented this young gentleman is both on and off the field!!!

Sinorice Moss - a favorite since his college days, and the main guy I collect

LaRod Stephens-Howling - a hometown player, and I own a copy of his only card produced so far

Jason Witten - How can you not like this guy? He's not only a top notch football player, but he's one of the few guys you look at and say "That's one tough ****". On top of that, he's a great role model and pillar in the community.

Long story but a good read...

Favorite retired:Jack Lambert! A little before my time but I did a lot of research on him.I remember the first time I ever heard his name was when I got the itch to bust some retail last winter(2008).I went to Target and there was little if any baseball and I had been working on beefing up my basketball and football. The basketball had gotten a nice jump on the football so I decided to buy some football instead and picked up a random donruss product.I picked up like two blasters and a various assortment of packs. Not looking for any hits but just hoping to build my player collections some.I ended up pulling a two color patch card of Jack #'d/25.I was like "Great...but who the hell is Jack Lambert?".Without much thought I got home and sleeved it and put it into a top loader and threw it in my miscellaneous section.

After a while...I was going through my misc. cards because I had printed off a list of all football HOF players.Keep in mind...I never really paid much attention to football.I always enjoyed playing it and I loved watching it but as a lineman in high school...I only cared about the hits.I never cared much for quarterbacks or anything else going on in the game.Just being able to hit someone. That was football for me.So I'd watch every game on tv pro or college but I'd never pay any attention to anything but the hits.I kinda zoned out if you will.

So I go through the list and I Lambert, Jack pops up.I sat there telling myself I knew I had a card somewhere. So I dug it out, took my cut up manilla folders I use to separate my player collections and put his name at the top and stuck it in my box with no more thoughts as to who Lambert really was or why he was in the HOF.So then ...after a while I see the UD football masterpieces come out.I got a bunch of packs and I'll be damned.I pull a Lambert card. But its badass looking.I was intrigued by it.So I just decided to type his name in to the yahoo search engine and look him up.Lo and behold...I liked what I found. From some of the accounts...you'll never find a meaner football player.Or a scarier looking one.The guy just looked like a freaking nightmare. And to me...it doesn't get any cooler or more indicative of what football was about for me.The more stuff I read...the more I liked.

For the other players I really like(now that I am an actual football fan and not just a fan of pain and big hits):
Eddie George
Daunte Culpepper
Kerry Collins
Clinton Portis
Vince Young
Owen Daniels
David Anderson

I have a few others but these are the ones I really think about when somebody asks who I really like. They are not in any particular order.Otherwise...I think Daniels would be at the top of the list.He is very personable(I have spoken with him several times) and he just seems like a normal guy.If you saw him in person(street clothes) you'd never think that it was him out there making Schaub look as good as he does.

I have a really hard time deciding between my two, but I give the slight edge to Chad Greenway - an Iowa Hawkeye becomes a Minnesota Viking, and Eric is a happy guy. I still fondly remember the day he was drafted, and it was honestly one of the happiest days of my life. Maybe that's sad, especially considering I've been fairly blessed, but I'll never forget the moment his name was called, and how quickly I was on the phone to my parents in Iowa to tell them the good news.

Close runner up goes to Tim Dwight, also an Iowa alum, veteran of the Falcons, Chargers, Patriots, Raiders, Jets... probably even more too. I've never seen a white guy move as fast as he did, and he was an absolute joy to watch play. I'll never forget going to an Iowa basketball game over Christmas break from college and seeing the first ever Tim Dwight Falcons jersey sitting in the stands. I made it my goal the next day to find one of those. His NFL career wasn't too remarkable, aside from his kickoff return for a touchdown in the Super Bowl against Denver, which I also remember clear as a bell to this day.

Honorable mention: Joey Browner. Again, a Viking, hard-hitter, wore his number when I played football, and just a great all-around player. I met him at the Vikings draft party back in 2003, and told him he was the reason I played football in high school. Looking back, it's kinda weird a 24 y/o would say that to a pro player, but I've never been accused of being really cool around athletes.

All-time favorite non-Hawkeye alum/non-Viking: Deion Sanders or Andre Rison. I loved those early 90s Falcons teams.

Can't deny his toughness, i remember when i saw the video of him with no helmet, and still lowering his head to against two guys. Damn that guy is crazy.

Slette tim dwight hit on my wife at a party in iowa city. some days i wish he would have been a better closer.

favorite dolphin is ronnie brown. before his knee injury i remember him jumping over a falling jet player and lowering the boom on a db before scoring. it brought me out of my chair...

favorite player from around the league has got to be jared allen. i love his motor and the dude is a whack job. watching him play in kansas city was a good time.

all time its gotta be barry sanders, tom rathman and walter payton. without them football wouldnt have grabbed my attention.

1) Andre Johnson (one of the classiest individual's in the entire NFL)

2) Peyton Manning (just a very down to earth Southern boy, very respectful, & in my opinion is the best QB in the NFL)

3) Ray Lewis, Mario Williams, Patrick Willis (I just really enjoy the overall effort & carnage that these 3 create when out there on the field...& the dedication that they've shown off the field is a plus also)

All of these are great player's, not just because of thier play/performance on the field but also thier personalities & thier performance's off of the field, in thier communities! :D

Guys who are playign currently:

Vince Young- UT alum who then went to my favorite pro team.
LT- Followed him in HS and college back in Texas and then followed the Chargers for a few year as team #2 for me.
Drew Brees- Followed him in college and then to the pros. I loved the way he played the game and the way his teammates always rallied around him. Not only a great player, but also a great person.
Chris Johnson- See Titans, Tennessee filed under Team, Favorite.
Shawn Merriman- My favorite defensive player in the game.

From yesteryear (most are former Titans/Oilers):

Steve McNair
Warren Moon
Eddie George
Jerome Bettis
Priest Holmes
Randall Cunningham
