This hobby can be ruthless.

It's always a nice kick in the junk when you find out the guy you've spent countless time and money putting together a big stash of a player only to find out that he has a more elite card coming out (i.e., a BC auto).

I would love to see NO repeats of players who already have Bowman Chrome cards, because frankly, it screws the people who were supporting the previous product that contained the non-auto'd version.

Elite Auto guys having chrome autos produced a year later is a bit different since they're two different companies and these have historically held MOST of their value, but I'd like to see some new prospects having cards made than the same guys over and over again.

I believe the sell sheets and preliminary CL won't be live until next month (that's when they came out last year), but I was curious to see who you'd like to see as autographs (on-card, hopefully) in 2010 Bowman Chrome this summer?

Here are a few guys off the top of my head. You'll note a couple of them have had cards already, but as we've seen, 2nd year/3rd year/etc players without previous Topps BC autographs sell well.

You know the list will look nothing like JPs however. We will be lucky if three of those guys are autos. Three tops, the rest will be six year minor league veterans who will be out of baseball within the next 18 months. I remember Jefry Marte and Randall Delgado, WERE on the checklist last year as Autos then were dropped. They'll add someone like Connor Graham to compensate. Don't see myself buying any Chrome this summer. Will probably continue to add Autos from 09 Elite. $90 a box and 6 RC Autos guaranteed, plus 6 more if a hot box. BC $60-70 a box with one Auto, usually Michael Watt, Brennan Boesch, insert any horrible players name. The Elite checklist wipes the floor with BC every year, but people will remain loyal and dump their money on Chrome. Can anyone who busted a case of 2009 BC say they made money off the case, or even came close? Sorry. Now ask the same question to everyone who busted cases of 09 Elite, they will probably be much happier.

BC has something EEE doesn't have -- hundreds of virtually worthless red veteran cards in their CL each year (with parallels). This is the main reason why you have a much better shot at making money from cases of EEE.

I'm under no delusion that Topps' autograph list will look anything like mine, trust me. Especially now that they're essentially the only game in town.
