Whether it was for good or bad reasons, who (player) did you expect more (or less!) of in 2012?

Trout for sure, I don't think anyone can say his level of play was expected. I was also surprised how well Posey played considering his time off. I'm sure there are more but it's late here and I am tired...

I'll go the other way than everyone else. Tim Lincecum was shockingly awful this year.

R.A. Dickey.
Why couldn't he pitch like that when he was a Ranger?
He'll be a one-year wonder.

How about Chase Headley? He lead the N.L in Rbi's and his power surge was amazing.

I'd have to go with Trout and Dickey.

Harper didnt surprise me since he showed since he was 12 that he has the tools to do what he did.

Exceeded my expectations:
A's
O's
Yoenis Cespedes
Carlos Beltran
Fernando Rodney
Edwin Encarnacion
Trevor Plouffe

I know it is a random list but I'll quickly justify each of them. Rodney, Encarnacion, and Beltran had great years and Beltran was able to stay relatively healthy. Thought the Cespedes hype was originally a bit overblown with his "workout" videos, but he certainly lived up to expectation. Plouffe made my list because he was one of, if not the first guy I "prospected". I wrote him off last year, but it was nice to see him develop into a MLB caliber player. A's and O's for obvious reasons. Had a hard time believing they would stick around as long as they did.

Justin Upton anyone?

Thought he took that step forward to super stardom last year. But this year was very disappointing....

Ricky Romero. He was 8-1 at one pt in the season but was very lucky considering how hard he was being hit. The wheels then fell off. He lost 13 in a row and ended the season 9-14 with a 5.77 era and 100+ walks. I really hope this season was an aberration.

EE was also a big surprise. Encarnacion had a breakout season with joey bats on the sidelines.

I'll go with Ryan Braun. The pressure to repeat, then the drug test fiasco and the loss of Prince should have been a recipe for massive regression; instead he was even better than his MVP year.

But I also didn't think Posey would come back the way he did.
