Someone on ebay has a 07 Topps Copper Casey Blake /56 for 12.00 or best offer, and they are from Cleveland.I offer 10.00 and they decline it.I think 10.00+2.50 to ship is more then fair for it.This card has been listed like 3 times in the last 2 months with no sales.

Just be patient. I've watched cards with crazy asking price go untouched for months and finally the sellers get a clue and just list as an auction. Just wait it out bud.

Some sellers probably think that the live.com discount is still up around 20-25% and therefore want to cash in as well. Not saying that's the case here, but hey.

On one hand, I see your point. On the other hand, I guess you could redirect the same question towards you as the buyer. It's just $2 more.

Agreed, $2 more than what you're looking for is not enough to warrant this.

As a buyer I wanted a card really bad that someone had for $10.00 and $2.00 shipping. He had a Best offer option, and even though it was a price I was happy to pay, I still risked the chance of not getting it by making an offer of $9.00.

Only an ass clown like me, would take such a stupid chance over a $1.00 That is beyond greedy and just stupid. Luckly the seller did accept my offer, and I should have the card shortly.

I am not sure what the point of this message was, but since i put in the time to write it, I am not going to delete it

Greed is part of the game. Why sell on ebay if you aren't trying to make money?

I don't sell on Ebay, but maybe that's just me. I know all about making money, that's not the point here. Greed is. There's a big difference between making money or making a living and being a selfish, greedy piece of dirt. But like I said, maybe that's just me and my opinion.

I've never seen so much greed in a hobby than I do in baseball cards right now. It's pretty pathetic.

It won't change anytime soon. Provided there are people willing to pay absurd prices for cards then sellers will constantly demand those absurd prices.

Such is life.

Granted, it's only $2, but I see his point. Why bother listing with BO (which costs more for the listing fee) if you aren't even going to consider any offers? It's not about the $2, it's about what he wants to pay for the card.

Prime example of another small $ card I was looking at yesterday. $5.95 BIN or BO. Every offer I made below $5 was auto-rejected. Why bother with the BO then?

For whatever reason, this seems to be rampant, this year especially. There are Dawson cards that have been listed since APRIL, that have ludicrously high BIN's, that I have made more than decent offers for and been rejected, and then insulted in an ensuing message from the seller. I am becoming convinced that some sellers don't even really want to sell these cards. I realize the fees are much lower if you have a store, but when you have a card listed for 8 MONTHS, and I'm the only one who's even made you any offers all 8 times you've re-listed it, don't you think you would eventually just sell the damn card?

I can't tell you how many cards this year I have made offers on with high BIN's, gotten rejected, and then bought the card 2-3 months later at auction for 50-75% less than the BIN on the other sellers' card. You show them this, and they couldn't care less. It just seems to me that some sellers don't even look at what a particular card is consistently selling for before they come up with their BIN. If your plain swatch #'d to 100 is BINed at $60, and I buy the sick patch version #'d to 25 for $20, why in the holy hell would I offer you anything close to that?

God, some eBay sellers get my hackles up. Sorry, end of rant for today
