What's up with the Mets wearing the NY Giants throwback jerseys? Also, why did they put Mr. Met on the sleeve?

I'm assuming it's a tribute to the New York Giants of baseball, not football.

Ever hear somebody call them the "New York Football Giants"? That's because there uesd to be a NY Giants baseball team before things expanded to the West Coast.

I haven't seen them wearing them, so this is the best I can figure.

Yes I know the Giants used to be the NY Giants but it makes no sense to wear throwback jerseys of the team your playing.

Interesting fact, the Mets played in the Polo Grounds (where the Giants played) in 1962 and 1963 while Shea was being built.

And I assume everyone knows that the Mets blue and orange colors are a tribute to the NY Giants orange and Brooklyn Dodgers blue, who both left New York after 1957.

Sound like the tribute is just an homage to a former great NY team?

Why does Citi Field pay homage to the Brooklyn Dodgers? Nothing the Wilpon's do makes sense...

The main founders of the Mets franchise also used to be minor owners of the NY Giants.
