Why aren't 2001 eTopps Ichiro and Pujols rookies more valuable?

I was looking at some of my eTopps cards and then remembered that Ichiro and Pujols both have rookie cards in the 2001 eTopps set.

Pujols was limited to 5,000

And Ichiro was limited to 10,000.

And their actual numbers are much lower because not everyone had the cards sent to them.

Then I looked on eBay to see what they're selling for.
Pujols for around $50 and Ichiro for half that, and as low as $15.

Have they always been that cheap? Are eTopps cards just that undesireable now?
They're beautiful high quality refractor-like cards made by Topps.
Is it because they weren't issued in packs and were just a novelty?
Just wondering because I love the look of the cards and was surprised that Ichiro's and Pujols' limited rookie versions are so cheap.

So many people have a bad taste in their mouth from being ****** around by the eTopps program, I think anything eTopps has been tainted for the time being. I think these may be more appreciated in the future and are undervalued at current market value.

I think that since they aren't pack-issued, they have a weird perception as something "other" and so are kind of in the oddball category. Yes, made by Topps and standard card size, but still a little off. But things change and someday they could be the craze.

Beautiful cards whether they are in the casing or not. Have several Thome etopps cards.
