Why aren't more GU hats used in cards?

Based on the fact that hat and glove cards don't sell for much of a premium now even though their production rates have been only a tiny percentage of jerseys and bats, I don't think it's the companies who are not willing , it's more the market response just has not really been there. It blows my mind that the glove card of a 3-time MVP catcher can be had for under $30 (Campanella from 2002 Fleer.)

You have to factor in that this card is a dual w/ Berra but there is no game used piece for Berra. I would never want to own that card. The UD Gold Glove Campanella now goes for $100.

And a lot of players like to stick with the same 1 or 2 hats for a season, whereas if a jersey gets stained, they get a new one

what a perfect thing for spring training - wear a hat or two a game for one week to create supply for hat cards or the team pro shop and then the player can wear their gamer the rest of the spring and regular season.

There were quite a few Hat and Glove cards from this years Prime Cuts and Panini Threads, Even batting helmets out of Threads. I got a hat tag of Maddux and Gwynn and regular hat pieces of carew, reggie, f robby, b robby, etc and gloves of carlton, schmidt, foxx, winfield, etc. nice pieces of you can get past the horrible designs of the card itself.

As others mentioned, it's likely the cost. Still, despite how ugly this looks I thought the rare GU was cool:

I agree the design isnt the greatest but seem like ITG is the Only one making Giant game used hat piece, which I think would be cool to be done now properly.

Then they also made these Front full pieces, I missed out on the Yaz as some guy dint want to work with me on price

Then Topps did the Full Frontal Hats on the Triple Fold out cards for some players and was lucky to add Vlad (Middle piece is hat)

Its kind of funny how topps bought the entire futures game hat and gave it away... instead of god forbid.. cutting it up and making more cards.
