Yea, but if you recall everyone hated Arod right after the incident. He was constantly booed.

A lot of people hated A-Rod BEFORE the incident.

One difference is Manny was never on the record saying he didn't do PED. A-Rod went on National TV and said he never took anything. He flat out lied. Fans don't like being lied to.

Actually, Manny Was on record stating that he never used PED's. I watched an ESPN interview the other day from a year or so ago, and he said that he had NEVER used PED's.....

Manny is Manny...he doesn't try to preserve any image. His care-free attitude imho is respectable. He doesn't care if you love him or hate him. He doesn't have anything to prove. He doesn't profess to be perfect....like he said, it's not as though he ***** or killed anyone. He plays the game for fun.

He is consumed with the money and the game no matter what he puts out there, otherwise he'd never have taken anything and he would have just retired when he got bored with the game. I seriously doubt that when he hangs it up that people will still love him, he reminds me of Sosa. All fan friendly, all big numbers and completely ignored after they are out of the game.

I doubt he will be ignored or talked about less than will clark once he hangs it up...

Thanks, you're right, Clark is a hero in San Francisco and should have garnered more than the votes he did for the HOF. Of course he did thing the right way, played the game with an intesity that the game deserves. He didn't goof off in the outfield and push people to the ground over silly things. He never spent an off-season with no one willing to sign him and he hasn't been named or suspended for using 'roids. He was and is a class act, and thanks again for your opinion.

I don't argue with any of what you said above...my only point is that manny will be talked about more (for better or worse).

I think there is a lot to be said about the fact that the steroids era is being accepted. If Manny had been the first to get suspended, there would have been an uproar. But we are jaded. We know that the problem was/is huge, and we are ready to just watch baseball.

I think it is because he did not get caught with accual "Steriods". It makes it easier to justify and turn a blind eye when someone gets caught with a womens fertilty pills (Or what ever it was) as oppose to real Steriods. (As silly as it is) The thing with Womens fertilty pills is that there really are other reason to take them than to just come down off of steriods. I would'nt take them personally but to each thier own. JMO

Sounds like someone who cares? Anywho I watched Manny day in and out for 7 years
and let me tell I screamed at him to hustle more times then not. The dude is a cancer
that happens to be one of the best right hand hitters ever.
Fans like him because he is goofy, I love the Ebay grill auction a couple years
