Hey,

I recently just picked up a 2002-03 SP Game Used Jay Williams Gold #d to 50 (see pic below). I was shocked to see that it books for $150. The Amare SP Gold only books $100 and the Ginobili Gold books $80. How does the Jay Williams book more than both?

If you look at the base cards #d to 900, the Jay Williams only books $10, while the Amare is $40 and the Manu is $30.

Were these not all produced? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Joe

All the golds are numbered to 50. I have all 3 in front of me (Jay Williams, Amare, Ginobili). Didn't make sense that Jay booked more by A LOT!

I'd guess either Beckett hasn't updated it's listings or because Duke collectors might pay to get it.

Probably the former; Williams was THE guy in his rookie class when everything came out, so they probably forgot to update that particular issue.

Just another example of why using Beckett to determine cards value is outdated

Haven't looked in a Beckett in years either, and I rarely use it to price, just found it curious when the person I bought it from had a sticker that said BV $150 on the top loader and he was actually right!

I am sure it will sell for $5-$10 on eBay, and that's good enough for me.

Thanks

It really makes you wonder why athletes ride motorcycles. It would have been interesting to see what kind of career he could have had in the NBA.

My answer to this is because most athletes are adrenaline junkies - and riding a motorcycle is a way to get that fix.

Yea, but is it worth it if it costs you millions of dollars?

For some - it might be? Some people would rather not live without adrenaline. At least it's legal if you have a license. Some athletes turn to illegal activities such as dog fighting and drugs.

He's young, doesn't remember all the way back to 2002.

That, and he was known as Jason Williams in college.

Although, I think imac and I are the same age, and I really remember Jay.
