Why don't individual cards have a upc?

I love the iPad app. Except it tends to scroll to the newest post on the page. No matter if I have read the posts or not

Man, I LOVE all the app sigs in this thread.

Keep using it boys!

I'm now going to uninstall it out of spite.

Always wondered what etopps was. Are they real cards? Is it a topps website where you can catalogue cards and trade them with other people on the site?

They release a group of limited cards that you can buy and are kept cataloged in your checklist. They can be traded, used in games, or sold on Ebay. If you want you can pay a small fee and have the card physically produced and sent to you in an uncirculated case.

As for a UPC on a card, that's a terrible idea. Cards already have such a horrible design that it seems most collectors would rather have reprints than a new release. Even what Upper Deck did with their UD Kids codes a few years back (around 06-07) makes professional cards look cheap.

I think as long as it's done right wouldn't take away from the card like a small bar code on the back of the card. Also, at least for me, I rarely focus on the back of the card especially in great detail.
