Why is Aledmys Diaz still batting 8th?

Hottest hitter in baseball. Why is he not hitting at the very best 2nd?
I understand if we didn't have Carpenter he would be a leadoff hitter on any other team.

Because Mike Matheny has an unbearable loyalty to his veterans.

There's no reason Molina shoud be batting 5th. I love the guy, but he should be batting 8th.

Holliday really doesn't deserve to be batting 3rd either.

It's a Matheny thing.

Hell, so the Cardinals have three leadoff hitters then. Carpenter, Wong, and Diaz. Who's the odd man out when Jhonny Peralta comes back? What do we do with Ruben Tejada?

We also have 3 first basemen. Holliday, Moss, Adams. With Molina there sometimes, and Piscotty capable of playing there too.

What's going to happen when Pham comes back? How in the world is he going to get playing time?

I just don't like this team right now.
