Why is BCCG even an option?

Sorry if its a dumb question but why does Beckett offer a BCCG service? It seems pointless when they provide the regular grading service. Does anyone know the reasoning on why they continue to provide this service? Or why they did in the first place. And obviously cards do not get scrutinized nearly as harshly as BGS.

I'd imagine they barely look at the cards and it's an easy way to print money for them.

I dont notice BCCG cards getting any premium. i mean i guess if you want your 90/10 OC card to grade a 9 or a 10 you would send it in but its just dumb. It might as well be one of these lame offshoot grading complanies you see all over ebay.

I am VERY surprised that it is still in existence. I thought it would have faded away after the first year or so, I was VERY wrong

I'm sure some people will pay less if it's BCCG over the raw copy.

Some people who submit with min grades get the non BGS slabbed stuff as BCCG. I've seen less of it now than say a few years ago. But I think people are much more aware that it's pretty much a joke at this point. The only way you don't get a BCCG 9/10 is if the card is a disaster
