Why is the football thread so dead?

Football side is way more active than it used to be here. It was crickets for longest time.

we have invested a lot in getting it rolling


it is extremely hard to get traffic you don't already have

Seems like it may be paying off, but I think word of mouth is just as important. I think that several of the most active posters on the football boards have joined up in the past 6 months. Come to think of it, I personally remember joining the boards after Gellman mentioned them several times.

Yea, i've been able to get quite a few fantasy players to sign up on the site. I think they are more likely lurkers and not posters though.
