This dude is hitting .471 (8 for 17) and NEVER PLAYS! What is the value in having him sit the pine in Cinci?

He can only play 1B and that's occupied, that's why. Send him back to AAA.

The majority of his playing time comes in left field.

Which he does badly.

Yes, but still that's where he played all year because of this, the Reds sending him in LF because he have no room at first. I think the kid should return to AAA and try to improve. Then on Sept.1 you call him back.

My point exactly, why is he in the major leagues? Mets figured it out with Daniel Murphy, I would think his offensive prowess outweighs anything you might lose defensively, especially in what is basically a lost season for the Reds. Give him some reps.

Agreed! Rly hoping he gets more starts as we move into September.

I've got a ton of his stuff too, and one of his biggest fans from Miami

Baker is an idiot...can't believe that he still has a job. Bad enough that he's blown out the arms of multiple young pitchers.

Amen, the guy is hitting .448 (13 for 29) and they can't even get him in the damn lineup. I'm sitting on (10) Bowman Chrome Blue Refractor Auto's and they've hardly moved because, despite the awesome numbers, he doesn't play.

I loaded up on Alonso and Desmond Jennings Blue Refractor Auto's and while they're both tearing the cover off the ball (especially DJ), the card prices have hardly moved.

It's the baseball market these days, it sucks.

I think it's because both guys are older than the avg "top prospect" and in (relatively) small markets (hence the lack of hype). I loaded up on a bunch of Jennings Blue AU's myself :(

Apparently the Reds have to drive down his value just a little bit farther first and wait for him to be considered old for a prospect before they trade him. DId he really need 800 AAA at bats? Should they have really played him only 30 games in left in the minors and then call him up and stick him in left field at Wrigley his first weekend up this year? Some organizations just have no clue.
