It's always fun to watch your prospects in his debut and hope for a gem ,but these three rookies are being set up for failure. Checkout the gauntlet they will be put through to start the season. It only takes one bad start for the bottom to drop out of a prospects cards.

First 5 oppenents for each pitcher.

Trever Cahill

I would say get rid of a SP when he makes the big league club out of ST, unless you got in so low that there is not much risk

I already had intended to start my auctions on Sunday, to get them out before the first start.
But I hadn't realized the early opponents. Wow.

We could see some real ugly ERA's. I'm hoping for the best. I've been invested in all 3 at some point.

Yeah, but they could come out of those 5 games 5-0 and oh boy what would happen to their prices then???

I regret not prospecting Brett Anderson!

I sold Brett Anderson about a month to early. I still did alright. I wouldn't count on 5-0 with those schedules.

They are def set up to have a real rough start to their careers. That being said it's sell time baby. Here are my reasons:

1) They are pitchers
2) They are young pitchers
3) They are pitchers :D
4) Did I mention I hate investing in pitching (Unless crazy cheap)
5) they just made the big time out of ST. They hype is going on locally for those players. Any eBay sheep will want to buy their cards now.

So unless you are in so cheap that it doesn't really matter, I say sell.

Unless they don't need a 5th starter until interleague, I don't see how the tigers will be playing the Braves the first week. I didn't check their schedule but I could be wrong.

They have two exhibition games against them: one today, and one tomorrow.

Is Porcello going be 4th or 5th in the rotation?

Gotcha. He's #2 in the rotation? I fixed it.

In addition to this about 3 starts in it might be a GREAT time to pick these three guys up if they get shelled and sent down. Market could be flooded combined with poor performance prices could crash far below where their ability and prospect hype could warrant.

For the Athletics i say HOLD as in every year they contend
i think each one of their pitchers will hit a nice high point in the season
could possibly be a no hitter perfect game etc ...
they have a very goo scouting history for pitchers starting their careers(just not ending them lol )

Counter argument.

Hitters have to learn how to hit new pitchers, not the other way around. These guys will have the advantage the first time or two through the league. Therefore if they're doing anything remotely well (and these three sure are) They have a great chance to shine against the best teams in the league EARLY before they're 'figured out'

Also, early season cold weather games tend to be lower scoring, pitchers duels- that might help keep the runs down a bit too. Anderson and Cahill are tougher calls to me, Porcello's gotta go at this point.

Sell now, then buy when they get hammered and sell when they have one good start...
