BIN with instant payment required. Problem solved.

YUP! What this man said.

Don't like the way you are running your auctions, change it. Simple as that.

I always pay right away.

But I may look into this Bill Me Later option.

I usually take a few days to pay b/c:

often, "life" is far more important than paying for ebay items 2.5 seconds after i won. my mom's in late/end stage CHF which means LOTS of dr. appointments, LOTS of time spent helping her (various errands, prescription pickups, cleaning, cooking, etc. for her). some days, i'm literally too freaking exhausted to care about logging on to ebay to pay right away. some weeks, (gasp), i go DAYS without logging onto ebay or my email.

often, i'm bidding on multiple items from the seller, so want comboed shipping + to save them paypal fees

often, i snipe (+ i often set it a week before auction end) + so may not notice i've won until a few days

often, i bid on a lot of items @ once, so i'd rather just bulk pay than taking time to pay every single time i win 1 item

often, i'm out of town + only have access to ebay on my blackberry. paying for ebay items on my blackberry is beyond tedious.
now obviously, if it's been 8 days or so + i haven't paid (+ i haven't emailed you to ask for more time/explain why), gripe @ me if you're the seller.

yes, i don't like slow (I define that as 8+ days, not 8+ hours) payers as a seller either. if i need/want FAST payment, i set up immediate payment required listings. Or, better yet, I do what i've been doing for most of the past year + sell on amazon where boom, person MUST pay within 2 days (+ I can withdraw my earnings daily) or bam, item can be sold to someone else.

Complaining after 12-18 hours? Geez. Half the time I have no idea if I won an auction or not for a day or two.

~I bet you are one of those derelicts that gets a bill in the mail and lets it sit on his desk for three or four days before paying too, right??

*******!!~

Dude, I rarely ever pay my electricity bill until I get a disconnect notice.

I'm going to Hell.

I said I always pay right away, so let me explain.

I don't remember the last time I actually BID on something. I buy things with the Buy It Now option. Then I pay.

Where are the winners located..

We just had a storm up here in the Seattle area that wiped out over 400,000 people without power..

Since they have no power, how can they log in and send money..

I snipe, so if I won anything while the power was out (55 hours for me) there was no way I could have paid..

What other parts of the country have weather issues..

Just a thought!

I don't mind when people take a while to pay if they send a message saying so. I sold a $200 card about a week ago and they haven't paid yet. But they sent a message a couple of days ago saying their paypal account was frozen and they were working on getting me the money.

But if about seven days go by with no response, I start sending invoices. After about 10 days I send a message. If I don't hear back from the person within three or four days of the message, I assume they don't want the card and open a case.

For me, it's a courtesy thing. If I'm going to buy something from somebody, I'm going to pay them right away. I know it's not the same, but I don't walk out of Wal-Mart with something and come back and pay for it three days later. But that's just how I am. Plus if I wait, I run the risk of completely forgetting about it.

I've never had a problem w/ non-payers until the last 4 months or so, then only got paid after Opening a case and that was only after sending 2 invoices and 2 other notes in 10 days...

And I just got an eCheck for $2.01... :?

I think it would be in ebay's interest to have people pay more quickly. It ties up their money too.

All in all it's better to only have to wait 8 days at most vs. 30 days like most business to business sales happen.

I would adjust your auctions to pay immediately or have a small window to payment. Although this will probably have less bidders. It is just human nature to procrastinate.

You can make your BIN items instant payment, but you can't make your auctions instant payment..

EBAY gives your customers time to pay..

You can say a certain time, but EBAY doesn't care what you say.. they are there for the buyer not the seller..

I usually contact the person before hand If I want the card. If they work with me thats fine. If not then I move on. I try to start communication before hand and the Seller informed.
