I got pretty lucky to find a set, that was an extra for me, sold within just a couple of minutes of listing. It allowed me to afford this (also crazy expensive):

Can anyone shed some light on these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... true&rt=nc

I see them listed all the time. And the same ones are listed and sold over and over and over. I asked the seller about them one time and they said they were from the Fleer bankruptcy auction. I just have a hard time believing they made so many of the same plates for a single card. I know there are 4 colors, but I've seen the same plates sold at least 5 times now.

Yeah, these are tough and under-appreciated.

That's about all we know. There are doubts about their authenticity but... that can be said about much of the Fleer bankruptcy stuff. Probably shilling involved too.

Happy 48th Birthday Will "The Thrill" Clark!!!

I've probably posted all of these before, but can't think of a better was to say Happy Birthday to my hero.

A couple of my most cherished Will Clark cards:

And a few pictures from when I had the great fortune to meet Will:

My wife and my son Will, wonder where I came up with that name? :D

Got these cards signed that day:

And the most prized possesion in my Will Clark collection a jacket that I've had since I was a kid. It was a source of pride to wear it to games at Candlestick and I tried in vain to get it signed at the park, but I was never able to get close enough to have Clark sign it. It was my goal to get it signed one day and that day finally happened at the event put on by the Fresno Grizzlies.

Did he bend the cards? I see the one pic where a card is about folded into a V.

No my twins, who were three at the time, did an number on the card while we waited in line. I was OK with it because I want those cards to be keepsakes for them.

Not a Will Clark collector, but here's a silly card I created and printed a couple of years ago from some lose stamps in a stamp collection I inherited.

Nice, the Giants used to play on the same theme in 1993 when they had Will Clark and Darren Lewis in the line-up and in 1991 or '92 they used to play on the "Black and Decker" theme when Bud Black pitched to Steve Decker.

This might be one of the ugliest $1000 Clark cards I've even seen. I personally don't even think either autograph looks real. Clark has a very consistent signature and that's not even close.

Can't get a hyperlink to work right, but here is the auction:
