Let's just ask the question, with less than 2 days to go.

No need to explain your vote.

Even though the Yankees have their guy, I still see him going to the Yankees or Cubs. The Cards are crazy, pay the man what he is worth.

I agrre, he will be what 37, 38 and still have 5 years left on that deal. Horrible contract if you are the Cardinals.

I hope he signs a contract with St. Louis that financially cripples them for a decade. Everybody wins.

That is what will happen if they give him what he wants.

IMO, Pujols will remain with the Cardinals, whether he signs a contract in 2 days, in the middle of the season (yes I know his stance, but others have taken that stance in the past and wavered on it) or at the end of the season. Albert IS the face of the Cardinals, with the Yankees, Sox, Cubs, etc, he wouldnt be, he would just be another free agent that any of those teams signed to buy another championship. He stays with the Cardinals, he goes down as a legend and or hero, he leave, who knows what his status becomes.

As to his contract, whether it be the Cards, Yanks, Sox, Cubs, etc, anyone that signs him to a 10 yr contract is simply foolish. IMO, no way possible that he plays out a 10 year contract in the NL. In the AL, sure as a DH, but how diminished will his skills be in 7-8 years when he's 40-something and a team has to eat a ton of that contract due to foolish moves today.

I say work out a 7 yr contract in the 200 million range and youve got a great deal for both sides.

I really dont think he is worried about his legacy. He like everyone else is worried about one thing, the money!

The thread question and the poll question are sort of different. Will he remain a Cardinal? Yes. But will it be Pujols agreeing to some terms? No. The Cards will cave and come to him. The Cards will be the ones agreeing to terms, not Albert.

As much I know deep down you are probably right, I still am holding out hope that is not the case with Albert.

Either now or in the winter StL gives Albert the largest payday. Cubs and Os are in the mix but neither want to give both years and $30 Mil.
