He'll be facing the Nati(o)nals...

How did Glavine's 300th change his card prices?

Does any other current pitcher have a legitimate shot at 300? Sure, anything is possible but with bullpens, pitch counts, etc. it looks like Randy might be the last.

Some cool tidbits I swiped from an mlb.com story:

• Most probably figured Big Unit would become the tallest, at 6-foot-10. But did you know he'd be tallest by half a foot? The tallest current members of the 300-win club are 6 feet, 4 inches tall -- Steve Carlton, Roger Clemens and Gaylord Perry.
• The shortest current members of the 300-win club were 5 feet, 8 inches tall -- Pud Galvin and Mickey Welch.
• Wednesday's start marks Johnson's first crack at the milestone. Only four of the 300-game winners the last 50 years -- Spahn, Carlton, Perry and Tom Seaver -- won their 300th on their first attempt.
• Johnson was born in 1963, the same year Early Wynn reached the 300-win plateau.
• Only one current member of the 300-win club was born in California, but Johnson will make it two. Tom Seaver was born in Fresno.
• Two members of the club finished with exactly 300 victories: Lefty Grove and Wynn.
• The only members of the club who have not yet been elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame are the ones who aren't eligible yet: Clemens, Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux.

If he doesn't I'm out 3,200 bucks and probably my life

PLEASE explain...

I wasn't being serious. I realize after reading it that it may have been no laughing matter.

I really hope he gets it tonight, I still think he's the greatest pitcher I've ever personally seen pitch.

Well, I am hoping the rain stops soon because just as much as I would like to see Randy make history he is pitching against Jordan Zimmerman and that's what I want to see and Adam Dunn and Zimmerman Ab'S

I'm sure I'm in the majority here, but my wish:
Game is delayed, Randy pitches tomorrow, loses, and his next start comes on Tuesday against AZ (a game which I have tickets to). What I wouldn't give to be at that game, and it's only right in my mind that it come against AZ.

Doubtful this happens, but one can hope.
