Anyone else have a pile of Brignac they've been sitting on for awhile? He showed alot of promise in '06 ,but hasn't done much since then. He went 0-10 with 5k after he was called up last year to the big leagues. Is it time to move on?

I like the kid, however with the signing of Burrell i think he is pretty much blocked for now from playing. He is still young though so if Burrell is only around for a year or if Brignac gets traded to a team that could use him i think he could be an average everyday player.

EDIT: Im a tool, i dont know why i assumed he was an outfielder.

Either way i still like him, and like i said he is still young so you never know.

He's only 23 ,but his K's have been going up and power numbers have been going down. I got in on him real low ,but probally should have sold in '06. I've got 10 '04 elite auto's.

I, for one, totally disagree. No offense Chris, but Brignac is still not projected as a reserve. I don't think he'll turn into Hanley Ramirez, but a projected full-time starter on a competing team with slight power is more like it. His defense is also solid. Look for him to be J.J. Hardy minus a little power.

He was rated the best defensive SS in the AAA International League last year, so if he can get the bat going at all he's a major league regular.

I don't see why he couldn't still be a star for Tampa, but if i didn't see good signs early this year, i'd think about moving them.

Yea, I read a good article on his defense. Its what might keep him as an attractive option until his offense rolls around (if it ever does). I just don't understand why his power numbers have dropped from '05-06. He was pretty highly touted for awhile.

Well if you've been sitting on him, of course he's going to have difficulty when he's hitting ;)

2008 was kind of a lost season for Brignac. He had the injury at the end of the year, and his K rates were pretty off. If he can ever get back to 2007 form, watch out.. he could be very good.
