Stole my thunder; tough to criticize grammar when you butcher a saying as badly as "minus well be sniffing coke." That has to be one of the most hypocritical posts in the history of the grammar police. For the record, and I can't believe I have to write this, but it should read "...sniff $50 million, he might as well be sniffing coke."

Chapman being 26 is definitely gonna hurt what he gets $wise therefore providing a detriment to Boras' argument there so what I would say is it drags out to the deadline (as previously stated) because they always do but the deal has to be made. First of all, Strasburg's stock will never be higher (he and Boras have to understand that) and second, Washington's leverage will never be lower since they suck and desperately need a fan base. Put all the variables together and the deal has to be done since there is too much risk on either side and if it doesn't get done, they both lose.

This situation is a mess. To sign Strasburg and Harper within the next two seasons is one of the biggest monetary risks I have ever heard of in a baseball draft situation. Both of these players could be flops and the Nats would be there holding the multimillion dollar bill. If the 2010 pick could be traded, that's what I would do... but they are stuck betting their future on two can-miss prospects that will require contracts most Major Leaguers don't get. They could pick someone else, but then they would look bad. I would HATE to be in their shoes right now.

Minus well is a commonly employed euphemism of southern dialect. While technically not being grammatically correct, its usage is a little different than being unable to to construct a sentence that remotely resembles anything above the level of a 6 year old. I appreciate both of you attempting to "call me out" though. Idiots...

You do realize he was not serious on the grammar part right? Who gives a crap if someone's grammar is not up to par. The last time that I checked this wasn't a grammar test, nor is it school. So back off man. There is no such thing as the grammar police as there is no boogyman unless you actually believe in that kind of garbage.

Chapman is NOT 26. That was an unsubstantiated rumor that was going around a few weeks ago. They even wrote a blog entry or something about it at BA. It's a ridiculous claim by whoever started it.
It's not in Cuba's interest at all to list him younger than he actually is, it makes him more attractive to MLB and increases the chances of him defecting.
