Yikes. From Kevin Goldstein.

Based on my limited Spanish skills, it looks like multiple reporters in Venezuelan are reporting the kidnapping of #Nationals C Wilson Ramos

I'm going to refrain from formulating some sort of joke with the word "steal" in it somewhere.

I feel terrible right now, Ramos is one of my favorite players, and seems like a very classy guy. Hopefully Ramos will be released quickly

Classy would be my buddy telling me to buy Derek Norris cards. (Well, his exact words were, "get some stuff of the guy who's gonna take his place!")

is this the same Wilson Ramos that played for the Twins? I didn't realize he was traded.

I met him in Trenton and got a ball signed and a pic with him.

Latest from ESPN:

CARACAS, Venezuela -- Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos has been kidnapped in his native Venezuela.

A spokeswoman for his Venezuelan League team, the Aragua Tigers, says Ramos was taken away in an SUV Wednesday by four armed men near his home in central Venezuela.

Spokeswoman Kathe Vilera said through her Twitter account that "this is sad, worrisome and true that Wilson Ramos has been kidnapped."

Judicial police said Ramos was abducted by gunmen who entered his house in Santa Ines in Carabobo state, located 150 kilometers (93 miles) west of Venezuela's capital, Caracas.

A source told El Nacional that Ramos' family has yet to hear from the kidnappers. However, the "Body of Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations" branch of the Venezuelan government has set up operations at Ramos' home, according to El Nacional.

Ramos, 24, batted .267 with 15 home runs and 52 RBIs in his first full major league season. He signed a one-year deal for $414,500 in 2011.
